Do something on new jerseys pros from back in the 70's and 80's who were great riders but didnt make it to the big show. Im sure a look into the archives would bring up plenty of names. I would also be interested in the early history of rpmx. Who picked the area for the track, who designed it, what year, what did it look like. I was told it was started in 71 or 72. Just thinking out loud.

Thanks for some of the ideas. I've been working on some history from the 70's and 80's and plan on posting it throughout the winter.

Stay tuned

2 ideas for 'ya Scott - NJ Ghost tracks, if any exist. Otherwise, you can always do the top NJ riders "where are they now" type stories. Schnider, Woerner, Faisst (who knew?), Rostien, Slugo (maybe he was from pa), Costa, Mann, Carlin, etc...one a week on your site would be fun!

Mid eighties to early 90's We (us pa racers) would spend our winters riding in the various sand pit areas of South Jersey (100ft hill, Port Elizabeth, Manahawken pit off of route 9,iron bridge on 72 ) I've had some of my best (and worst) riding memories down there. Some weekends it was like showing up at Raceway Park out in the middle of the barrens, you would find some of the big guns of jersey/district 6 ripping it up out there. Ty Wallace, Jim Capitan Dengler's, JerrySeip, Carsten etc.. I always looked forward to winter because of that place. Plus it was fun to run into some of the Jersey boy's that we would race against during the season and check out everybodies new scoot and see what they had going on before the season started. ( those were the days when we got new bikes every year) I got busted up pretty bad a couple times and ended up spending some time in a piney hospital er. What's the scene like nowadays down there? I heard evrything was getting shutdown or going total ghetto.

And for the record, i think the two most successful Jersey boys to make it big in the little MX world are Weigant and Jlaw....and that's only if you count Weigant's stint as a relief flagger on the pension road plunge...

Very true. Just adding to the thread for people who didn't know. But man, these farms, cow poo smell, and random Amish galloping around sure make it different than Jersey hahaha.

I grew up in New Jersey, and have ridden all over.

I'm sure I could be a pretty interesting interview, and put a pretty cool story together about growing up in NJ and finding places to ride etc.

Going to have to include Mickey Kessler for sure. He had something like a 50 moto win streak going at one point at E-Town.

Nick-

Thanks, I've been working on that results archive thing we spoke about and am planning on a where are they now report. In fact Costa was in the shop just the other day and Schneider raced Wildwood this spring. The ghost track thing is cool. I spoke to someone early this summer about a track that used be right near wall stadium that was one of the early races in new jersey. I understand you can still see much of the track from under the brush. I am thinking of putting together a photo shoot with some vintage bikes if possible.

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate the help
