Now that Barcia has signed a new contract will he return to his more aggressive Bam-Bam riding?

Was he just on his best behavior before getting resigned?  Will it be a return to "take-out" city?

Poll

Predict how Bam-Bam will ride now that his new contract is signed and his ride is locked in for a few seasons.

It's funny how a 5-round stretch of not putting anyone in the dirt is historically clean riding for Barcia

Look what Hampshire did after he signed his 2 year extension. lol

I think Barcia's deal has been done for a while they just announced it now. I could be and probably am wrong.

I don’t think Barcia has changed anything about how he races. I don’t think he ever will change…and I personally hope he doesn’t change and that he keeps racing people the way he always has….hard!  Whether you like them or not, between RJ and Barcia, neither of them short us on the heart they put into their craft.

He’s riding better. This is the change and he is on the upswing compared to his competitors. I’m excited for outdoors I think we’ll have him in 3-4-5 mix after Tomac and Sexton.

I hope Justin sees how much more effective he is when he's doing the stupid stuff that keeps him back from the podium where he belongs. But, old habits die hard...and I have to admit that the "old" Barcia entertainment for the fans, like him or hate him.

I think the "old" Barcia will reappear.

I don’t see parity between Barcia and RJ. And the issue isn’t really that Barcia shorts us (and his competitors, mainly) on heart; it’s brains that seems to be missing more often than they should.

As for the OP’s question, I see Barcia have one of his “I was just going for it. I race hard, blah blah blah” moments again in one of these final rounds. His history demands it.

Her look is the answer to the question.

100%   spot on.

I put Barcia near the top of the list for riders who have heart.

I wonder if he will not try as hard now that he has the 2 year deal. Like if he was riding for the ride. That doesn't seem like something he would do. Given how aggressive he has always been I would be surprised if that happened unless he was just changing his focus to outdoors to be ready. But some riders in the past have had better results up until they got a new contract and then were not as good after.

I hope that he stays on the cleaner side of riding and keeps the good finishes going. I enjoyed aggressive racing when I was racing, but watching a one sided aggressive pass that results in a rider going down is not as fun to watch for me. Either 2 riders being aggressive towards each other , but still moving forward, or clean racing  with multiple passes that lasts most of the race is what I enjoy seeing. I have been somewhat a fan of Barcias since I had seen him at local  Southwick races for years when he was a kid. But not a fan of  a lot of the times he has put others down. I think his team would prefer that he stays on the cleaner side. I look at it like if 2 riders agree to racing each other that way, fine. But in my mind I would feel like winning by knocking another guy down, was not a real win. Winning by being the faster racer is a more satisfying way to win. But I guess any Pro 450SX win would be pretty sweet no matter how it came.

Barcia always has had these streaks of riding fast for a handful of races and then it goes away again for a while.

I like Barcia...I really do.  He is just crazy talented.  If he could just focus like Webb he'd be in a much better place.  The Bam Bam style is never gonna get it done.

He's signing contracts and making a good living but he COULD be much better.  I want to see his results reflect his skill...not his ego.Blush
