A friend and I were talking about Tracy Meeks, he had ran into him a while ago but I dont remeber what they talked about.

Sam Storer, thats a name I havent heard in years.
When ever I hear mini names from the past it reminds me of the A.M.E. I still have my last license from them.
I remeber being at a big ame race at Indian Dunes watching Kehoe, Luo Franco and Goerge Holland going at it.
Tracy still rides and can be found out at Glen Helen. Sam storer: He was fast, but once the track got wet, he was like a deer on ice. Barona Oaks produced some awsome mots back in the day. the 80 experts diced hard, Kehoe, Holland and Burnworth ran the top three spots in all classes. Burnwirth was incredibel, as his dad would be waiting with another bike for 4 consecutive motos. stock, mod, 105, and I think 125 too. I never got a jerse, but new Harry quite well. My friend Chris Taylor still has Bruce's Harry's Cycle Jersey. Someone mentioned Chipo Vogel. That guy was my favorite Corona Raceway pal. He was an animal and alot of fun to hang out with too. Last time I saw him was at Bruce's funeral.

[quote="Bill163":1vlspgzn]I remember Chip Vogel, my buddy had a 78 RM 125 I put a 100 engine in it he and Chip use to have plenty of duels at OCIR in the 100 class. He also protested him thinking it was a 125.I think Chip went on to race off road trucks and was pretty good at it.[/quote:1vlspgzn]

Chip Vogel,Tracy Meeks,Allen Lucas,Chris Morey,Randy Fliesher,Danny Jean,Marty Miller...plus a bunch of others i can't remember and myself all rode for Harry Cycles Sales in Orange,CA back around '73-'79 ... i was just curious if anyone knew what some of these guys were up to now???? ...
I just saw Tracy and Randy at the races at Glen Helen. Randy works for Pro Circuit in Corona and Tracy is a contractor. How about Chris Taylor and Simon Volkov? I see those guys all time as well. We haven't seen anything of Chip Vogel, he was so funny. A classic dude. We cut off his leg cast in his dad's station wagon one Friday night at Corona Raceway so he could run the first moto. His dad was a maniac too!

Theres a guy on here that had white yz80's in 82 and 83 before going to firebreathing KX80s before Ponca and LL's.

Most had no idea how he had OEM white bikes. He wasnt from anywhere near where they sell them either.

Bader Manneh had some sweet Klemm Research motored KX's in the 80s.

Last I saw Scott was at a supercross race in 1987 at ASU Sun Devil Stadium. I hung out in the pits with him and his dad, but was ejected from the starting gate due to no "pass". It was pretty funny! I was in college at the time. Last I heard, Scott and his dad came to blows after all those years and that ended his career. He just couldn't deal with his dad's attitude any longer. That kid was fast!

Hey Tom, i became goods friends quite a few years back with Ronnie playing Motocross Madness 2 on our PC's. He is one of the coolest/nicest guys there are, its a shame how his racing career came to an end. We had such good times reminiscing about the good ole days.

Remember his really trick YZinger in 1981 at Ponca? That thing was badass!

Here is an old mag clipping, i have pics of his Zinger on a HD somewhere ill have to dig up.

Ill shoot him an email and see if i can get him to stop in here and share some stories.

Very cool picture. That was 1981 and Larry Brooks won Ponca City Championship that year. He was on a Private CRF YZ80 and 13 years old at that time. He was the youngest kid to win the #1 plate at Ponca at that time. Not sure if anyone younger than 13 years old ever won the #1 plate at Ponca in the 80 Expert class before they changed the classes and age bracket?

The next year Brooks was on the Suzuki R&D race team when Bruce, Rick and Kyle were killed.

Nice! Sound's like an activity you guys would take part in. He use to live back behind the clothes ctore off Tustin Ave. I remember it would take ma and Taylor over an hour to ride our bikes there. That was far for us! It was way past Harry's shop. I'll send you a mail and hopefully we can all get together soon. Maybe you can come to Anaheim 1 with us?
See ya

Mouse McCoy, Todd Campbell and others create a smokey start at Saddleback. Todd's brother Jerry can be seen right behind him. Those who have ventured to go back to the track have reported that the starting gate is no longer there. Where could it possibly have gone?

From what we understand, they removed most of the sarting line and it is now a huge water shed/whole. So, the toll road crew might have removed it during the process. I will send you a picture of the back track gate, as it is still there. It was taken just last year and hope you can post it for me. You can see the install date in the cement. Banzi hill and most of the front track is all recovered and hard to destinguish. My pal likes to hike back there and he took the picture.

I asked in another thread a while back and didn't get much. Does anyone remember Broc Bullard, Youngblood twins (Daryll & Derick maybe), Tony Youngblood,Jay Mann,Johnny Dean from the 80's? The Youngblood twins road Yamahas and Dean rode an RM 80 when noone else was riding them. The rest rode Kawis. All were from GA and FLA.

I remember Daryll & Derek Youngblood. They were a bit younger than myself, but used to see them regularly at a little track in Tampa called Golden Eagles. Their Dad and my older brother used to work at the same place from '83 until about '01.
I think it was Derek who holeshot the 125A class at the Daytona amateur supercross in '85 and led it for quite a few laps before casing it off a double and breaking his wrist. He did not crash, but messed up his wrist pretty bad.

I think Bobby Jay Mann posts on here from time to time.
They showed up one day at a friends private track and they where run off .Their dad was real nice .Right after they left a another rider showed up by the name James stewart sr with a young man and was trying to teach how to ride .The only one form fl that still rides is Vince devane he still races and does well at dade city .

Yep, it's here in Cairo. Chuck has two sons that are really fast, Chase and Zach. In fact, I just bought one of Chase's KX65's from Chuck for my son.
