If they exercised the RFR, they just have to match the contract. Considering he is within his negotiating period, he would be allowed to sign a LOI without violating his current contract. It would depend on the language in his current contract if he even has ride for the outdoors if he is truly still on his TG contract. People sign LOI's all the time while still under a current contract and yet still race the races contracted to by the current team.
Ducati
Translated from a French article:
"Triumph in sight, Ducati approaching!
A few days after the announcement of the test riders, one of the people in charge of the MUST Motorsport team, which will run Triumphs in the MX2 World Championship, was seen in the Arco paddock, scouting for the team to sign two young riders for 2024. The Triumph project is becoming more and more precise, even if no one has seen the bike on the track for several months, and another project is in gestation on the side of...Ducati! Despite some denials, the project is well and truly launched, with the objective of the MXGP World Championship in 2025, where there will be two Triumphs and two Ducatis in the premier class."
WOW! this is amazing and crazy news! more team, more riders more competition, more money! I'm all for it!
i would have never guessed to see either in the MX range during the time of my lifetime. love to see these brands investing into our sport
Wouldn't be suprised a Japanese brand drops out in the next couple years though.

Ducati is in the US and speaking with some teams...2025 sounds like the US goal as well.
450? 250? Both?
The article didn't mention anything regarding a 250 program, but that doesn't mean a 250 is not in the works.
Desmodromic 250f????
450.
Ducati getting into moto would be insane.
It's already there. Antoine Meo developping the bike. They have troubles finding a top rider, that's the only downside. But they're coming.
Ducati are winners in Motogp and wsbk. They will win in MX/SX. They have technology, they can attract sponsors, they will spend money. Euro manufacturers are making it tough for the Japanese in road racing, will MX/SX become the same?
Why would an HEP type team not jump on this? They get almost no support from Suzuki vs being a factory supported team.
Bobby Hewitt is doing Triumph so that takes out HEP there.
But Ducati could be a potential option. I think it's more likely that they get deeper in with Suzuki after the success of this year or switch to another Japanese manufacturer with support.
Are the bikes going to be 25K?
Bobby Hewitt*
Bobby Regan is Star.
I think HEP is one of the teams they have contacted or will be contacting.
Good catch. The one from rockstar Suzuki/Husky days not the car dealership guy.
I thought KTM's were expensive....
Anyone see that video of the 2007 GSX-R 1000 turning faster lap times and being more rider friendly than the Ducati in the hands of a Pro? Not trying to imply anything just thought it was wild.
Pit Row
I think factory editions prove a lot of us don't care what bikes cost. Nobody is keeping it a secret as to where money comes from.
🤔
Look at local sportbike club racing, pretty rare for anyone to race a duc unless a dealer is giving them everything.
Is Beta planning anything for the US. I know they are racing on Europe
I think they'll be fielding a 1 rider 450 effort next year.
Beta are taking there sweet time for a manufacturer with a race bike. With models they could easily use for mx. And they hired a person to become team manager 3 years ago. And still nothing.
id love for Sherco to get onto the scene. got a chance to be part of a test day/launch a few years ago and i was biased to start with. but probably one of the best handling bikes ive ever ridden and the most fun ive had on a bike.
i know they had a plan to line up a year ago, but nothing ended up coming of it
I can see their point though. A lot of money has been put into him over the years by Kawasaki.
They still had to develop their 450 MX bike, and I think the problem was on the manufacturing side. There were no issues over in MXGP because they can run works bikes, but they need to manufacture a minimum of 400 units to meet the homologation rules for the US.
The world was then put on pause, so that didn't help. RC has mentioned it postponed Triumph's racing effort, so it's not just Beta.
Most riders were also under contract, which gave them limited options. They can't just sign anyone if they have goals they want to achieve on track. Heading into 2024, there are a lot of riders without contracts, so they'll have more options to pick from.
We'll find out later in the year if they announce a team or not for next year.
Homologation rules should be a percentage of sales, not a set number. They way it is now it prohibits, or literally bans small mamanufacturers from competing.
I know of a rider going to test the supercross for Beta in the next week or so.
Agree 100%. But, I sense that is entirely the point. Protectionism...
