Put bike in neutral, rock, click, rock, click and so on.

Pull hot start knob.

Find top dead center with comp release.

Kick and don't touch the throttle.

If it starts...

Reset hot start.

Put it in gear and try to catch the entire fucking pack that passed you while you were performing the starting ritual.

I had an 04 yz 250F and that thing was picky AF when it came to starting. You didnt want it to be too hot or too cold, so I would have to predict the precise time before going to the line to warm it up, do it too soon, wont start, do it too late wont start. I never wanted to be the guy holding up the start trying to start the bike

You're right, I have not. Not my bag. I've seen the videos of those starts, with rider after rider plowing into a dusty pile of crashed racers.
