Cheap labor is no excuse for allowing the flow of migrants through our borders. They take the jobs nobody wants... There are hardly any non ethnic framers, roofers, sheet rockers on job sites anymore. To me, that’s a safety concern. I was taking one opinion to the extreme to show how silly it is to assume if X person has Y belief then they must also be okay with Z. Which isn’t true.
Yes I support stricter gun laws than what we currently have and I think it’s silly that some of those on the right think any legislation at all on gun control is too scary to allow because it’s the first step toward disarmament. Every election, we see conservatives saying that Democrats will take our guns. Democrats controlled Congress and the Presidency for 2 years. Were there any massive gun laws passed? Some on the left that are more for an all out ban or confiscation are also silly. They don’t think rationally when they say that. They just think it can happen in the blink of an eye.
People coming here should certainly be vetted. I’ve never said otherwise.
Imagine how desperate you’d have to be to pack what belongings you could into bags you can carry and march north toward the US border with your wife and children in the hopes of a better life. Because the country you’re in sucks and no matter what you do, no matter how hard you work or how intelligent you are, the life for you and your children is going to be terrible. Are you aware that Mexico does not allow foreigners with citizenship to vote or, even be on assistance? If they come here legally, they should face the same struggles as everyone else.

Quality healthcare should not be a privilege for the wealthy. Your taxes are paying for a lot of things. We spent 300 million PER DAY for 20 years in Afghanistan. Many on the right often say, “Why are my taxes being used for X Y or Z overseas when we could help people here!?” But then when an idea is proposed to help people here, they say no we can’t do that.
If immigrants of any nation commit a crime in said nation, it only makes sense that they would serve the time in that nation. If there’s a mutual agreement between the two countries to have them serve out the sentence in their home country, then they can be extradited.
You are worried about people abusing the system. I get it. Those people are not the majority. 15% of welfare recipients are abusing it. Let’s round up though for the sake of this argument and say it’s 25%. I’m personally okay with 25% of people abusing it and 75% of people truly needing it to survive and better their lives. There are MUCH bigger fish to fry, but I’m perfectly fine with our government trying to find those 25% and dealing with it accordingly. Welfare fraud cost American tax payers an estimated 160 billion in 2020. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act cost the federal budget 130 billion yearly in corporate taxes alone. If we add in the massive cut for the top 1% as well, we vastly outnumber the welfare fraud cost. That is where the focus should be. That’s the bigger fish.

Well I said I have never seen a crime in my city but that's over. I picked up a bunch of fence panels at HomeDepot and noticed there is a ton of Mexicans standing in the parking lot waiting to get asked to work I guess. We had to stop and tighten straps when we noticed sparks flying from under multiple cars and a group of guys standing in front of each one acting like a wall to block from seeing them cutting off customers catalytic converters in broad daylight around lunch time about 200 yards from the Sheriff's station. Sparks flying. They saw us seeing them and started cussing us out and kind of charged at us aggressively. We could of got some exercise but just eased away and my buddy called it in. Atleast they just passed a bill to help stop it but dam pretty bold. The bums tried to move here not long ago but my city is so strict on littering that they didn't stay long so I'm sure this will get handled too. I have an uncle along with his parents who immigrated here legally from Argentina. His father and mother sold everything and came to the US with 60K in the early 60’s. The dad bought a house in Torrance Ca and, started a small, mobil, pressure washing company for cleaning semi’s. They didn’t come here looking to reap the benefits of the system. They came here for the benefits of having the ability to create better lives for themselves on their own. That’s respectable.

We had a process in place which helped ensure assimilation. it’s necessary for migrants to adhere to our cultures values, norms and to be aligned with the bulk of society. What’s happening now is not allowing that. There’s no assimilation with open borders. When you import mass amounts of people from a 3rd world country, you become a 3rd world country. “They’re just coming here to work” sounds great however, are you aware that over 65% of California’s welfare recipients are non citizens? Who said nobody coming for free handouts.
