I have been following Elzinga since he came to the States!
To trades wins with De Wolf! Impressive!!!
What was the problem in the second race with Van Doninck?
He crashed in the start of the second race and probably injured his forearm slightly.
Shame there’s no coverage of these Dutch sand rounds

Went to one of the Dutch Masters rounds last year - these guys are a on a whole other level of speed as compared to AMA racers when it comes to going fast in the sand.
At the end of the day, the track looks like they dropped bombs on it, amazingly rough and brutal..
Heard that some of the top guys are trying to set up things to come to Southwick this year, its an off week for MXGP...
Will believe it when I see it. Tomac will still win there

top 3 250s running faster times than the 450s was the track groomed before them?
No way to compare 450 lap times to 250s. The track was very rough. Also lots of small & big crashes.
Vlaanderen was probably the fastest in 450, but fell in both motos. In 250 vd Moosdijk fell from p1 in moto 1.
Reisulis is impressive i can see him do nice things in emx250 this year. But he is huge for a 15 year old.
Better watch van Doninck's IG story
Not true...when Vlaanderen was catching Herlings, Herlings laptimes were around 1.50's. Later he was running 1.47 and 1.48's. I was there and no way Herlings has pushed one time
When Vlaanderen was catching Herlings mid race he was doing a 1.46.
I agree that it looked like Herlings wasnt pushing (Febvre imo the same), but Vlaanderen did look like he was pushing.
Agree, thats why he went down. Track was brutal 2nd moto.
There was no info about his injury or crash?
He asked what the problem was
That was bullshit, 84 clearly cut the track.
Brent has been impressive recently. Hopefully he can put it together in the GPs too
There's a video of harfsen....... is on this youtube channel....johnvanbeek100...
Pit Row
The 250s 2nd moto times were still faster than 450s 1st motos so you point on roughness is mute

Parts of the track were flattened after moto1. 85's and 125's went for moto 2 and after that 250's were destroying the track much more than they did before them. But de Wolf, Elzinga and vd Moosdijk were freakin fast...and again i had not the idea Herlings and Febvre were pushing the limits. Really controlled. While the fast 250 guys had their sketchy moments
This is great coverage of the 450s:

250 moto highlights
Always curious about the MXGP guys racing the smaller national series events as well. I assume they are still fully supported by their team, do they get win bonuses from sponsors/factory albeit at smaller $ amounts? Guessing what they are allowed to do, compensation, etc. is all negotiated in their contracts, just is different than AMA racing since we don't have any high profile non AMA events over here....
I would pay good money to stream the Dutch Masters
It's a combination of reasons.
The teams support the riders, just in a smaller setup. There is no trailer at these races, everybody is running a van setup.
The GP riders see it as a good prep for the GPs. Do a sand race at Harfsen when next week there is a sand gp at Sardignia.
And make some money in the process. For the guys with a big factory contract it is peanuts, Herlings made 5k with his double win. But Petrov who is a privateer would have made roughly 1500 with 6th-5th (he lost places due to sound issue).
Pre Season the promotor talks to the factory teams if they participate. They had some posts on social media about that. Don't know if it's just about representing a brand or about money for the teams. Sadly the dutch based factory Yamaha team with Coldenhoff is not involved this year.
This is the price money for each moto:
No idea if they talked about money. But the way i understood is that the reduction of race length (25 minutes only) was as a result of the talks with the bigger teams. Apparently in an effort to have less effect of lapped riders and the safety risk in that. Not sure it really made a difference since they still ended up lapping up till p10
