They might have come out even but Smith absolutely schooled him in that woop section, and I think that’s why Deegan took him pretty dam high for a “teammate” that was clearly faster. The first one is pure speculation but the rest were bs on Deegans part.
I think James explained it pretty well, here. I initially thought both riders were at fault but I never looked at the intent part of it, the way that James did. He makes some good points and I could totally see it playing out that way in each of the riders' minds. Either way, it was a bit of clown riding by both guys. Hopefully it's over with and they have moved on. Bummer that the series swaps coasts, since that would be a good storyline going into this next race. We will have something else to debate by the time the 250E are back racing. So it'll be old news at that point.

I am of the opinion that Jordon smith possibly having the worst decision making abilities ever caused the ENTIRE incident. Him being a complete dumbass pissed Deegan off which causes him to hit him in that 3rd turn and then smith made another horrible decision and took himself out. You guys are all a bunch of low iq chodes.

Deegan could have sent smith to the moon the door was so open! He didn't. I've been hit harder in vet classes than what deegan did to smith in corner 3 of the cat n mouse game. Nothing was wrong with any of it. Smith just failed at his actual attempt of a take out. Deegan didn't attempt shit or smith wouldve been on the ground before he was.
I have nothing against either rider and I'm not biases. I don't care if this was barcia and elhombre. Same opinion.

So we've had takes from RC, weege, Tom journet, Mitch kendra, kellen brauer, roto moto, Steve matthes, keefer, ping, Ricky johnson, Johnny hopper, Josh mosiman, and stew. All big media guys, only stew says it's ok and he's the one that nailed it? How are 12 guys totally off yet one guy is right? Sounds like a lot the people agreeing with stew are going off emotion and don't want to see the dangerboy get blamed.

These boys need to take a look at this video. This is how team mates ride a heat race. Deegan was being a shithead and then Smith got caught up in it. Not very hard to understand or see.
How can RC, RV Weege , and JT all be wrong about who's more at blame.
They need to bring back some of the obstacles shown in that clip. In the first clip, the on-off section with tabletops of different heights was pretty cool. Jumping into an elevated corner, we haven't seen that in a while.
Some of the camera angles were great. Shot from further back, you could see the guys making up/losing ground.

I agree with James. It all happened so fast, I don’t think either one of them were in the wrong. They don’t have eyes in the side of their head. It’s like when a cop shoots a suspect with a gun, and people are like “Well he didn’t have to kill him, why didn’t he just shoot the gun out of his hand?” People have a split second to react, and shit happens.

Some of the tracks from back then really were good. Also with the bikes making riders make mistakes that aren't season enders but were really good for the racing. It's not rose colored glasses either, I love today's racing and some things are better. There are some things though like obstacles you mentioned, that could definitely be implemented again.
Everything about the sport, aside from the riders, mechanics & bikes, has become more incompetent since these days.
