Are you sure about that statement? You counting James's rookie big bike year and theCanada rounds in your calc? I'd love to see that stat considering James never took an AMA championship from RC including SX ...but it can happen...happened to Bradshaw if I remeber correctly.

Yes, I'm sure.

2005 - James did better in 3 out of the 6 races that they both competed in in AMA SX.

2006 - James finished better in 10 of the 16 rounds.

2007 - James finished better in 5 of the 7 races that they raced together.

Also James & RC lined up against each other in 29 AMA SX main event races.

James won 16 races
RC won 8

well I'll be damned Thanks for the stats- Someone said earlier that "RC was a better racer (not rider) than JS"... I suppose that makes sense after looking at your facts.

not on a consistent basis. As long as James keeps it on 2 wheels it will be hard to beat him.

James is just the fastest guy out there. He simply has an ability to ride a motorcycle faster on a supercross track than anyone ever has, and if someone else is faster at some point in the race, he keeps turning it up until he's fastest again. That's hard to beat.

They will be able to pressure him into mistakes but only if they are infront of him. (Read: they probably wont be able to match his speed) However, If he gets a bad start it might take all of those 20 laps to make moves on those 4 guys. And Inorder to make those passes he must be flawless, I think if he get his rythem rattled on his way to the front he could get frusterated that hes not getting by them as fast as he needs in order to win James style; which is out front and compfy.
id have to agree with that too. it will be harder for him to get around 4-5 real fast guys. i t may take him longer thus giving them more time to get away

And Reed, RV and RC are not RC.
I understand that Reed isn't RC, and RV isn't RC, but RC isn't RC? Who in the heck is RC then. So your saying Reed is really CR and RV is RV, but RC isn't RC so does that make RC RD or is RD not really RD, but really RC.Unsure

First up I'm a Reed fan and hope he can take the title this year but you would have to be impressed with the way JS handled the pressure and took the championship after such a bad start to the season. He would've known all season long that 1 serious lawn dart or DNF and he wouldn't have been able to claw back enough points. I have a lot of respect for that sort of mental strength.
Will RV and Reed be able to pressure Stewart? Of course they can an they will. Can they pressure him into mistakes? Maybe, but the circumstances at the time will pressure him just as much. If he has a poor start to the season with a crash or 2 that puts him behind on points then it will more likely be the situation that pressures him.
Can RV and Reed beat JS is a better question and for me the answer is yes but time will tell.
And as for Dungrey?

Never heard of him

I think the other boys wont let it be a walk in the park for him in 2010, they have what it takes to be in the mix all season long.
Nobody will take the chances it takes to race Stewart let alone beat him. Reed already proved he can't and won't. With that said RV,Dungey and Grant can't and won't beat Reed . The best racing will be for 3rd. Its going to be a dog fight between Dungey,RV and Grant

The unstated fact amongs all those stats is that there were actually 48 main events during those three years. Where was James for the rest?

Everyone keeps acting like its JS vs everyone else, like if someone beats James then its a win for the "everyone else team". You got to remember that "everyone else" will be racing again each other as well. I see RV and Dungey beating each other and Reed more than i see them beating JS. The top spot will be held by JS I think 80% of the time. 2nd thru 5th will be divided up between RD, JG, RV and CR with an occasional AS or JB. I think to expect JS and CR to go 1,2 all year long is a pipe dream. Lets face it, no one on their best day is faster than JS on his best day, so that being said the better the competition the better it is for JS to pad a huge points lead. I see lots of 3rd 4th 5th even 6th place finishes for CR this year, same with all the other tops guys. JS will still get lots of 1st's. I see the points race being over with 3 rounds to go.

Yeah, well people have been saying that about CR for a good five or six years. Fact is that only two guys have ever beaten Reed in a full SX championship, and one of them is retired.

James was injured for 10 races in 2005. Other than that he he finished every other SX during that time period. He also won the WSX title in 2006 and the AMA and WSX titles in 2007. Not bad if you ask me.

Damn P do you work for espn! Thats good stuff with the stats but what gets me is how every one for gets even when RC was doing his farewell tour he still came to race and he didnt have any thing for JS1.Im a RC fan but JS1 is just on some oher shit but even still JS1 had to learn and i think the 09 SX season he graduated! I really think Reed is going to have his hands full with RV JG and ppl may laugh but J-law will be out in Nov-Dec and he may be top 5 by Feb-march!Oh and im not going to rule Yogi out..Any body have orlando 07 Sx,watch that race.
