Kenny is a Man of Action. 👍🏼
Only 50 but trained all winter only to realize I still dont want to sit around the track all day waiting to ride.....
I will be 64 in July and I still ride every weekend at the track. Mountain Bike a few days a week also. You need to stay active !!!
Race 3 classes then or help flagging then you race for free. A lot of 50+ riders do 2 classes but not 3. Mike Brown is about the only guy that races 3 or 4 classes. What is the secret to racing 3 classes ? On a 125 I see using a lot of energy spirinting to catch up against 450,s. Millville should be different at the end of the whoops I should have open track.

Kenny...where you gonna be on Sunday?
We have a Senior MX series in the Midwest. MXVETS.COM 5 races. Two national tracks. Classes from 25+ to 70+. Series has been going for 25 years.
Hi Manny….I have family stuff all weekend. My youngest son has been on tour for the last month or so and is coming by for the weekend while they’re n Ca.
He leaves for another 6 weeks or so and k wanted to be around for him. The following weekend will be my first ride, it’s hard to wait. You riding this weekend?
Not knocking anyones choices....
....but to me. Moto for 20 minutes or trail ride all day long. For me, I pick the latter.
Some good input in here, especially the guy who suggested a bike that can do either moto or trail ride. But in Cali, that means plated.
EDIT: Looks like Kenny made a purchase. Congrats!
Up here in New england after 40b it's open classes only. I don't bother since I can't compete with ex pros. Even with the ride multiple classes idea you're still getting 4 lap motos and sometime 3 for 2nd motos and spending 3x as much. It's not like the good old days...
Thats why you must have more than one bike.
A bike like Kennys would make a nice addition to the stable.
Millville is a part of the series again . Awesome track for rnd 1. And there’s a 18+ 125 class, I hope there’s 30+ on the gate. It should hv a lot of 50+ riders. Do you know if 55A pays cash at a super series race ? Thx
Dear Bother,
Rode today…in the Gawt Damn Snow! It was awesome and it kicked my old fat slow ass! (My JCR Speed/Twisted Development/Yoshimura/TLD Honda RL)
Can you ride in-week? Maybe next Tuesday? I’ve got some private property out in the Dez…just east of Edwards AFB…I’d come get ya in the van and we’d head out.
Sweet bike!! Whatever you decide to ride (mx, CC, etc) find a good track that you could do laps on, just try and go out and ride through 5 gallons of gas or do a number of laps each day or several times per week to get in shape. Go as fast as you can and do the jumps you can (the jumps will just happen sort of). I would go as fast as you can without doing the jumps at first. Your body will get in shape, but you’ll be sore for the first couple of weeks.
Post up where you going the following weekend and good chance I can meet you at a SoCal track.
54 yrs young been on a 125 after a major accident on a 450 in 2017 but couple months ago I sold the 125 and got a KX250F
Try to ride atleast once a week. Ride lots of Mondays and Fridays, sometimes the weekends and an occasional Tuesday. Haven’t raced in years but consider it from time to time since there are Vet races here in SoCal.
Will probably be at Pala this Saturday
I can tell you one thing OP you won’t be sitting in your death bed many years down the road saying I should have never bought that MX bike back in 2023
MOTO DERANGMENT SYNDROME!!!!
Well played.
I had my day in the sun with moto.
Oh yeah if your in the trucking world a lot die from heart attacks around 40. The last 2 weeks I heard about a hs pal. He married his hs girlfriend her dad has a co . He was leased on with them. He was found dead in the cab. I know he never ran 20-58 hrs straight of in& out of the ne like me. I hv no idea how I,m alive. But the last 2 yrs I,ve been getting shooting sharp pain in the chest. Basically you spend the day looking for a out- a safe place to hit the shoulder when you black out& die. If there’s no shoulder practice pulling the brakes if you black out to die. It’s a waste of life being on the rd the jobs pay nothing. This week a women pal said her girlfriend,s husband a real o/o with his own authority died in the cab from a stroke. He was 55. I,ve seen countless drivers dead bodies getting bagged at a truck stop. It’s quite a challenge to get there bodies out . They hv a mechanic show up & remove the jump seat& door. Then I get a dispatch & roll out. If I get 4 hrs of sleep I feel fine. 24 hrs + of running is the trouble zone. What your body is going threw is brutal. You get constant g forces running the ne. You wouldn’t believe how much that helps for riding tho. I get no g force feeling riding really. A up hill sweeper with whoops at the top I cut sharp on the left corner then hit a table top, faster than a fast 250f. My body doesn’t feel the hvy g forces on a bike so I don’t hv to let off. 1 hill has 4 nice floater jumps. If bothered me that I didn’t get that cool feeling inside. So I shut my eyes at take off& flying threw the air . Then open my eyes on the backside of the hill to land. 1 hill I got a feeling a few times. Corners a gear higher & just rail them. Strange how much much high g forces in a trk help for riding. The 04 has Great front end grip also. 4-8 is the big 2-st race at glen helen . Sucks that I,m scheduled for injections yet. I would Love to do the big down hills in 5th wo.
