I agree, but the linkage gives us shorter riders a cheaper option to lower a bit. I really like the KTMs, got a couple of friends that own 'em. They are just too friggin' tall for me! I'm a two-stroke guy, and KTM looks like one of my only options to stay that way. With that, I welcome the link.

KTM's linkless suspension works so well. People just need to give it a chance. It's a shame, really. It seems like they're giving up on it because of all the naysayers who have never actually ridden a KTM.

Properly set up the no link works just as well as the linkage bikes without the weight and complexity plus less to maintain. If KTM puts linkage on I for one will be very irritated.

They finally have their linkless PDS system working and they change to suit the naysayers. I like my 09 450SXF rear suspension (with the correct spring) as well as anything I have ridden.

Yea I think it's kind of lame they had to "conform" ....every test recently said it was working well now

I hope they keep the PDS for the woods and off road bikes. Properly set up, with valving the rear of the KTMs is magic in the woods.

Why the hell does KTM even bother? They can't get teenagers to even give a KTM SX a sniff. Considering that their market for bikes is the vet rider, for whom their current PDS bikes work spectacularly well, I think they would have been far better off and could have made just as big a splash if they had simply made a 218 pound 300SX or a set of forks that work.

heck yeah, I rode my friends 400 and compared to my re-valved and stiffened YZF, his KTM was like butter in the rocks and roots.

Linkage sucks, if you have a ktm that is actually set up right by a reputable tuner you could never tell if you had linkage or not. I have a 2010 ktm 450 and it works great im bummed there gonna go linkage but ill still buy ktm best bike out there better than that jap crap.

The new KTM linked suspension *SUCKS*. No, wait, I mean it is _good_. Or maybe the differences are just splitting hairs, and the only really significant performance improvements over the years have come from disc brakes and water cooling. All the rest, e.g. upside down forks, perimeter frames, fuel injection and fucking four strokes are mainly reasons to give Kawasuzyamahond more money.

I just happened to be at a race yesterday where Pecsi the fastest B rider in the State of Michigan was handing everyone there asses on a KTM. In the A a KTM finished second behind Lorenz and won 14-24. So I guess what I am saying is that 2 of the 3 fastest riders were riding orange.

KTM has never conformed and never will. Remember in late 06 everyone was complaining about the lack of space on the side plates, now look quite a few bikes have that look although not as extreme. Hondas have a weak copy of the KTM front fender. People gave Husaberg crap for their engine being in backwards now look, Yamaha has done that and it is very close to looking like a new Husky. Seems to me the Japanese never think of anything thing they just try to improve on it.

KTM is a trend setter. Nobody makes a cleaner looking bike out there. 95% of the haters have never rode one. IMO there is not one 250f that is better than the next in performance. But when it comes to fit and finish there is not one bike out there that comes close to a KTM.

The bigger story for me is not the linkage, but the 350SXF they are coming out with for 2011, which Alessis is rumored to race since they will be in stores by May next year, can't wait to ride one if they actually do become available. Oh and yes the 350 is the one seen all over testing with linkage.

KTMs are awesome bikes, without a doubt. You also can't ignore the performance of a KTM, especially in the off-road events. The one common theme I get from Katoom owners is they all rave about their reliability. I own a KX250, but was gonna buy a EXC300. Just too tall, and to lower would cost a bunch. My buddy has one, and it's the ultimate trail bike if you ask me, kinda like a KDX 200 on steroids!

With that, he does get a bunch of head-shake when opening it up in 5th. Actually quite violent head-shake. We've tightened the stem bolt quite a bit, and set the forks all the way down in the tubes... Better, but still there.

Anyone else experience this? Anyone have a solution that doesn't include a $400 steering stabilizer? I've heard talk about fork oil levels, but kinda think that might be a long shot.

I wonder if they found a way to still have the shock somewhat offset to the side for a better intake tract? The pic kind of looks that way.

BTW - I have rode the old mans 07 450 sxf and it feels fine to me.
