Graphic content warning. It sounded like a simple enough tip over, but his thumb just got caught at the wrong plate at the wrong time. Video below of the aftermath

Yeah I have heard stories of people getting sliced by those just doing simple stuff in the garage.
I saw the Aplinestars medic motioning to another medic during the race (I think it may actually have been a practice). The medic pointed at his thumb then did the throat slash and then pointed to the side of the track.
I interpretted it at the time as "his thumb is laying over there". I guess I was right. Eeeeeek
Ouch!
Spoke with him yesterday and it is just a waiting game really. The goal is to make sure the thumb itself accepts the attachment and then go forward.
I'd like to see the actual pic of his thumb..
I had a rotor related accident once.. graphic pic attached.. lol
We had to pick up my friends ring finger tip once. Fell over in a section and the front brake lever pressing on the grip cut it off. Might have been the clutch side, just know that it was a finger tip on one of his hands. He came back to our trucks, threw his bike down, starting cussing and started walking to the track. We looked down and saw his glove was all red and missing a finger. We said holy sh-t he is looking for his finger! We found it in the sand, I convinced my friend to pick it up, we put it on a cold Mountain Dew can and drove him back to town. It was sewn back on but removed the next day as the finger died.

I remember a friend of mine cutting the end of his thumb off in a front disc rotor. We were picking it up to load it on a trailer and he gripped it around the lower fork and didn't realize his thumb was stuck in an open slot on the rotor.. As soon as the wheel set on the trailer and rolled it cut it off like a guillotine.
This thread just keeps getting worse.
