Been on a tuft and needle mattress for 5 years and I consider it one of the best purchases I have ever made. Firm but compliant, hasn't developed any low spots like other foam mattresses ive slept on, but I like a firmer sleep than most people.

The wife insisted on a Sleep # bed. We've had it for about three years now, and no complaints here. I run mine at about 85 on the scale, she's at what must be #15 or #10. It's so soft, I can feel the frame rails beneath it.... I don't get it, but whatever. My side is comfy. I can definitely tell the foam divider is in the middle, but that's OK with me - it keeps her on her damn side when I'm trying to sleep!

I've suffered from chronic back pain for probably the last 20 years. I do have an L5S1 fusion I had done about 8 years ago.

I've tried them all.

Tempurpedic
Purple
Tuft and Needle
Sleep Number

I mostly didn't like any of them. The biggest waste of money was the Sleep Number Bed. That thing just sucked in my opinion. Spent like 2k on it at the time. I was looking for anything to help with my lower back pain.

The one I like the best is the Novaform mattress over at Costco. This is the "bed in a bag" similar to Purple, Tuft, etc.

That particular model is amazing! It says Firm rating, and it's perfect. Support for my back and a proper sleep, but soft for the hips, elbows, etc. My wife also loves it for the same reasons. Firm enough for back support, but soft enough for the hips, etc.

It's the best mattress of them all. And Costco always has sales on them.

We have a king, a queen, and three full mattress. All the same model. All feel great to sleep on!

I'm glad you posted that, something I need to look into. When I was paralyzed I had a fusion from T3 - T10 and I like my bed as stiff as possible for back support. Also makes it easier to move around on the bed, if it's too soft I just sink down and it's a real bitch lifting myself into different positions. If I'm in real bad pain I'll even sleep on the floor for a few hours but I can't do it all night or it puts me at risk for sores.

We just sold our house and living in a hotel until the new one is built so we'll be bed shopping pretty soon. I can't remember exactly what our last mattress was but it was a very stiff memory foam. I liked it but after 4 years it was needing replacement anyways. This hotel bed is too soft but not much I can do about it.

My wife wanted a Tempur-Pedic so we bought a $5000 king size and since day 1 I have hatted it. I like a firm mattress wife likes a soft mattress and to me this thing is like sleeping in a hole in jello. In the morning my back is twisted up like a pretzel. In our RV we put in a sleep number and we both like it and the strange part is we both like the same number setting.

I have the high-end sleep number at my house and the farm. My wife likes the bed like a rock and I like it softer so it is ideal for that and being able to raise or lower my feet or head individually it great too. I don't like that if my 160lb Rottweiler climbs in it throws the air lopsided because it will try to go to the place of least resistance. I had back surgery after breaking my back as well as many other injuries and I get good sleep on them.

We have a purple mattress that I hear is comfortable.....often my wife kicks me out and makes me sleep in the shop where I lay my head on the bench seat of a 1978 ford truck

What was the difference between the tuft and needle and the novaform, if you can recall? As I said I've been happy with the tuft and needle, I just spent 10 days not sleeping in my bed and my got kinda wrecked.

The tuft and needle just isn’t firm enough. It’s not a bad mattress. We used it for a year. But I think the Novaform just has a better body to it. Doesn’t sag as much in the middle. I’m 215 pounds and the Novaform holds me really well.

I really love it. And like I said, we have every bed in our house that model.

Give it a try sometime. Don’t like you just take it back to Costco.

I think we got our king on sale for maybe $599.

If it lasts 5 years I’ll be happy at that price. I won’t be tricked into a “20 year comfort” guarantee again from other places.

I’m super picky about sleep comfort. I believe your bedroom should be a sort of place of zen. I’ve got salt crystal lamps, wall mounted fireplace, HEPA air purifier, etc. in our bedroom.

This bed is the best one I’ve tried.

We have the original Purple. It is insanely comfortable, but I still wake up stiff and achy. My wife is roughly half my weight so it's hard to find a mattress that works for both of us. We tried a sleep number for that very reason and both hated it.

I feel you, my wife is double my weight and we recently went to two twins pushed together. Best of both worlds, sometimes she even falls between and cant get out and it's hilarious! Win-win.

Tempur-Pedic Pro Breeze.

My wife has a blown L5/S1 and we broke down and got the Tempur-Pedic.   Crazy expensive but they really are a quality product.
