I would still way prefer to see the event run on a natural terrain course, but YS pulled off a much better track than the preview images suggested. The event had a very good look to it.
The same could be said about last year, I didn't like the man made track but it was very demanding and provided some great racing.
How could you?

I'd love to see the next years race at glen helen or red bud.
That was real MX today. Real *hard* MX.
Track looked pretty good to me once it roughed up. It had some decent airtime but fairly safe airtime.
It sure was real hard motocross you got that right. Today had everything.
I still think if they are bound to having the event at big motorsports facilities they should try to get to Sears Point/Infinion. Lots of elevation available there and it's in one of the world's premier travel destinations.
I think the teams have a much better handle on the altitude and heat issues than they did several years ago.
Pit Row
At the end of the day the bikes run noticeably different and the riders bodies will be getting less oxygen.
Sears is surrounded by wineries, terrific places to dine, one of the most photogenic cities in the world, a spectacular coastline, spectacular road rides available, all within a hour or so of the track. Almost zero chance of rain and almost guaranteed mid 70's to mid 80's temps.
There are a ton of reasons for someone coming from elsewhere in the world to pack a lot in the week.
There's my chamber of commerce pitch
Nah, but I will agree that Sears Point would be a great place to hold the venue, with it's Nascar crowd capabilities and excellent natural terrain.
Hah.
