WLTN Canadian Kawasaki Seven MX Team Announced
Walton, Ontario, Canada (February 17, 2023) – WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX race team is geared up for a full year of world-class racing in 2023. The WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX racing team will compete against the premier motocross talents from across North America as they seek to contend for the 2023 MRC Canadian Triple Crown Series.

WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX will continue with Woodstock, Ontario racer Tanner Ward who will compete for his second year aboard the KX450. Ward had a strong rookie season in 2022 and looks to build on his strong season finish. “At the end of the season in 2022, I felt better than I ever have on a motorcycle. I know I will continue to improve with the experience I built and the WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX Kawasaki 450 under me!“

Alongside Ward will be Beloeil, Quebec’s 450 rookie Jeremy Mckie. Mckie, a stand-out Canadian amateur champion, had his best season in the Pro class, with several 250 podiums, including a second overall at the final Walton round in 2022. McKie’s large stature made him a natural to move to the 450 class. “I feel that the 450 suits me better than the 250. Right from the moment I got on the Kawasaki 450, I felt comfortable. I feel 2023 will be a great year for me, WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX and everyone supporting us!“

The WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX 250 effort will be placed on the shoulders of American Justin Bogle. Bogle is considered one of the most gifted riders, capable of a world-class race pace. He will bring his experience to the line aboard his Kawasaki KX250. “I am very excited to race a new series and compete against new riders with the platform WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX has for me. This is a really exciting time for me at this point in my career, and I can not wait to go racing!“

WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX will keep a solid amateur tie, leading Canadian Kawasaki’s Team Green support program and backing mini racer Caleb Vankoughnett. “Last year was amazing to travel and race against riders across Canada. The guys on this team have become mentors to me, and I can’t wait to get to the races in 2023!“

“We are confident with our team roster for 2023,” said WLTN/Canadian Kawasaki/Seven MX Team Manager Chad Goodwin. “The success we shared with Tanner last season is promising as we look to the upcoming Triple Crown Championship. We’re also very optimistic about Jeremy and Justin’s abilities to be top contenders in their classes. Caleb was such a strong team member last year, and we know he will continue to develop. We are in a great place with the development of our bikes and look forward to racing in 2023.”

I'm happy for Bogle! I hope he gets to do WSX again (if that's what he wants) and I hope he continues making music, it's a great way to express oneself
So Justin Bogle on a 250 and Ward and Mckie 450 class!?!
Bogle is a former 450 national winner in the US, shouldn't he be competing in the 450 class??
Anyways, super cool that he will come to Canada to race.
Hmmm interesting. Was thrown for a loop when I saw 250 also.
I know that McKie is a bigger/taller guy, so him being on a 450 makes sense.
That said, the 450 class needs more fast guys and Bogle would better be suited for that class over McKie.
The 250 class already has a solid amount of talent. IMO, Bogle riding that class doesn't change much.

Crazy how fast Bogle dropped down the pecking order. I know he had a lot of injuries but dang that went quickly.
Good for him. Maybe a little more low key racing up in Canada is what he needs to keep the train on the tracks.
He hasn't been the same in quite a few years, so I wouldn't necessarily say he went down the order quickly.
A change of scenery is good sometimes.
It's going to be fun to watch.
I totally forgot Bogle won a 450 National.... Im a fan and knew he had some good rides but good pull! 2017 Budds Creek 1-3 for 1st overall
Bogle is a cool shit, with less pressure he should enjoy the racing. I appreciate it when good US guys come up whether that's early in their career or at the end.
No matter what his speed is or conditioning we can all agree on the talent he brings to the table right?
As many serious concussions as poor Justin has had, I just hope the slower pace of Canadian moto helps him stay connected to the bike. Justin is a great guy and a talented rider, but at some point you need to know when enough is enough. I’m quite confident that this opinion won’t be popular.
He's doing both series, but there is a conflicting date with the Canadian MX Nationals.
Round 2 of the WSX series in France on July 22nd conflicts with Round 6 of the Canadian Nationals in Moncton on July 23rd.
They'll look at where he is in the points standings for both series and go from there.
I’m stoked for Bogle, he’s had a rough go at this sport and it’s nice to see him still getting paid to race a dirt bike. Hopefully he can get some legswag going again and build from there.
A little strange to be on 250’s , there are straight up amateurs on the line often in that class , but another fast guy is always welcome .
Was Bogle eligible to race AMA 250 class. Bogle, Tickle and Bowers are all names that come to mind for a good fill in ride for Mitch
Does Bowers even ride anymore? Tickle and Bogle won 250 titles so they can’t race 250 supercross.
Bogle and Tickle can't race 250SX in the US because both have won 250SX titles.
You also can't race the 250SX class if you finished in the top 15 standings in the 450SX class in the last two years. Broc finished 13th in 2021, and Bogle finished 13th in 2022.
Didn't they say if you classes out of 250s your not allowed back even if u don't have a title. I think it's only joey and mcelrath. But they are not allowed to race 250s.
As for the top 15 or 20 rule. On request from the ama you can drop back down.
They have already allowed friese. And others to do it( maybe chiz and someone else.)
Pit Row
Bowers raced in Germany in November of 2022 and January this year. It didn't go well.
November 2022
Night 1: 12th (last)
Night 2: Didn't make the main event. 3rd in LCQ.
January 2023
Night 1: Didn't make the main event. 9th in LCQ.
Night 2: Didn't make the main event. 12th in LCQ.
Night 3: Didn't make the main event. 6th in LCQ.
Safe to say Bowers isn’t on Mitch’s speed dial then.
Chisholm finished 19th in 2021 and 14th in 2022, so he wouldn't be allowed to drop down to the 250 class this year.
Friese didn't finish in the top 15 in 2021 (18th) or 2022 (20th).
If you are pointed out of the class under the old rule, you can't drop back down.
Riders that finished in the top 15 in the 450SX class can appeal their 250 eligibility to the AMA, but only if they self-advanced to the 450 class. If you pointed out of the 250SX and moved up, you can't drop back down.
Maybe someone can explain to me a team announcement that features proofs of bike graphics? Good for Bogle, but they couldn't get guys on bikes for promo pics, or am I missing something?
They could have at least gone with rider headshots.
If I had to guess the bikes aren't built/ready yet.
I know that Ward is still not on the bike. He's recovering from knee surgery.
McKie is down south riding his own bike.
Hell yeah! That series just keeps getting better. Happy for Justin.
It seems like a red flag to me that it's so lackluster. If it were me, I'd at least mention my 250 rider is a past U.S. 250 SX champ, and 450 outdoor winner.
These guys at the level they race should be able to race any class they want 250/450 whatever
100%. Either it’s a pro class and open to anyone or it’s not pro and there’s rules for development. Pick one
They can race in any class they want, but there are rules regarding the eligibility for the 250 class, similar to those found for the 250SX class in the US.
I don't care that they hired Bogle to race the 250 class. I'm saying it would be better for the series if he was in the 450 class instead of the 250 class. Why? Because the 450 class lacks depth. We need more fast guys in the 450 class to make it more competitive and interesting to watch. Bogle would contribute to solving that problem.
250 Class Eligibility in Canada:
I'm not sure how strict they are with the rules considering Mitchell Harrison finished 8th in the 2020 250 AMA MX Nationals.
250SX AMA Class Eligibility:
There's more, but the key ones are the following.
450 AMA Pro Motocross:
Good for him! Always been a fan and seems like a good dude with some bum luck. Wonder if a ride like that is a decent paying gig?
