All time SX win list.

All the recent talk about Eli approaching RC's total got me looking at the all-time list.

All time

Jeremy is the King of Supercross, and I watched every win he had so it really shouldn't be surprising but when you look at the numbers on paper, they are stunning. The number of wins he has over 2nd place all time is 22 which would put him in the top 10 all time. It is very impressive what Eli is doing but All Hail the King.

It helps that Ricky, James and Chad were racing each other. It's been said before, but take one of those guys out and then someone likely passes McGrath.

Probably won't be broken any time soon though.

I think Deegan has a pretty good shot. Sry couldn't resist Laughing I agree. Don't think 72 will ever be broken.

Webb only has 20 wins, I'm not sure how they get 21.

72 won’t be broken.

I think we can all agree on that. Sometimes it just strikes me how gaudy the numbers are. It's like if instead of breaking Babe Ruth's home run record of 714 with 755 home runs that Hank Aaron would have hit 1028. The numbers are just ludicrous.

If you take any one of those three out Kevin Windham moves up the list.

I just want to give James 2008 and 2010 back. His win % in that time period would get him close to MC. What If games apply to a lot of guys though

That's what he intended but it is false. K Dub had 4 seasons he came in second place in SX. If one of those three go out K-Dub gets more wins and a championship or two. 72 is untouchable, I don't care how many "ifs" someone wants to throw out.

Why does Dungey have an * by his name?  [17]

Excellent point, and think about it this way...

Even if Windham didn't win even one additional race...
-and-
Even if JS7 never won a Supercross race...
-and-
If we assume an even distribution of James' 50 wins get split 25/25 between RC and Reed...

Reed's win tally still doesn't match Jeremy's, and RC only beats him by one win. Blink

If Carmichael had decided to go SX only for 4 more years instead of retiring, he may have gotten close. Not diminishing what MC did. He’s the GOAT of SX. It’s just an important thing to point out. Saved his body to dominate more in his specialty.

Does this count 250 main event wins also ?🤔

As part of the "what if" game.... what if RC didn't get injured and miss the entire 2004 SX season, that arguably could have been his "prime" SX season. I don't think RC gets to 72 but for sure he would have had more than 48.

Fair to point out that RC only raced 7 full 450 seasons. And I think he missed a few rounds in 1999.

MC raced 10 (not counting 05-06) Tomac is in his 9th (not counting 2014).

You could argue MC did most of his damage in 8 years and exclude 97 and 2002, which does make it more impressive IMO

Stew only made it 7 full seasons, missed parts of 05, 08, 10, 12, 16, and all of 15.

Who thinks that Webb will pass dungey is the real question?

Also it's pretty amazing there are only 2 international riders on that list.

250 wins are not included in all time wins for Supercross.

If Ricky Johnson didn’t have to race Bailey, Ward, Lechien, Glover, Hannah…..……and if never got hurt???  If MC had stuck with BMX……

For everyone playing the if game: If the 97 Honda didn't suck MC would probably have 80 wins.

My point with the Ifs is there are always Ifs.  For everything everywhere

Oh, I get it. Coach woulda put in Uncle Rico in fourth quarter, they would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

The SX seasons were 1-2 races shorter in those days too.

Updated die to forgetting Stanton.

To me this is the way the SX best stacks up. Titles mean way more than race wins. Each title gets $1 million bonus while a race win is $100k.
1. MC 7 SX titles and 72 wins.
2. RC has 5 SX titles and 48 wins.

3. RV has 4 SX titles and 41 wins.

4. Dungey has 4 SX titles and 31 wins.

5. Stanton has 3 SX titles and 17 wins.

6. James has 2 SX titles and 50 wins.

7. Tomac has 2 SX titles and 47 wins and counting. If Tomac gets past 50 wins he would pass Stewart for 5th all time. If he was able yo get his third championship he would be a clear 5th all time.

I really don't like James in 5th, but I understand your logic and don't have that strong of an argument against it. The only question if you are weighing titles heavier where do you put Stanton? Three titles in four years against Bayle and Bradshaw is nothing to sneeze at.

Side note: Stanton, so freaking under rated.

I forgot about Stanton. He would be 5th Stewart 6th and at this time Tomac 7th. Good call.

Dangerboy will surpass MC's 72 wins when it's time!

OP, you make a good point about MC's gap over second putting him in the top ten. I never looked at it like that and wow.

I still struggle with Tomac potentially passing both Carmichael and Stewart (and having passed Reed)...

Nostalgia makes me look at Carmichael, Stewart and Reed very differently to Tomac. I guess it'll come.

72 wins and Dungeys podium streak are 2 records that will never be broken.
