Used lots of these kits with great success, always got the combo kits for the forks.
anyone just do the compression kits and leave the midvalve/rebound valve alone (stock)

wondering if its worth always spending the extra money, full combo kits and 309 the compression only kits are 179

thoughts?
cheers

Thought you were a Pro-Action guy?

I can't help you with this, my only experience is removing Gold valves for unhappy RT customers.

formerly yes i was. Used to work at pro action canada. Run my own shop/show now. I was refering revavles out but ive had way to many people unhappy with the work being done and little or nothing was done to correct the issue. Been doing race tech kits since with great success, just never once tried using the compression (basic) kits only. always the full combo kits. i have my own thoughts and theories on the basic kits vs full kits and what the differences are but figured id ask for real world opinions.

Ive seen a few guys very unhappy with race tech, and it usually had very little todo with RT. guys like to lie to themselves about their abilities. One that came in was setup for a fast inter slow expert. being ridden by a mid to back of the pack novice. he wasnt honest with himself about his speed so the bike was to stiff and harsh for him by a long shot. Another issue ive seen a few times with "suspension guys" who maybe shouldnt be doing valving at all is the float is way off and the forks arent working at all the way they are supposed to (techs fault for sure)

I've been an RCI dealer for 11yrs, and stock mids are totally tuneable. I have modded rt base with stock mids/tuned with good results.

When you use the GV kit does that come with a recommended mid/reb setting from RT or just GV settings to run with the stock mid?

I know with the right settings in all circuits the GV can work well, as can the PA valve body and other valves both aftermarket and stock. I explain to people that ask about aftermarket valves that if you're unhappy with a GV it's not because the GV doesn't work, it's because the settings aren't working for your application. The same goes for if you're super happy with them, the tuner nailed the settings and that's what makes for great suspension. I can't tune GV because I have no experience with them so I recommend they contact RT or I have to convert back to OEM and use known settings I've tested.

Im curious about this also. From what I can tell I only have the compression side per the RT provided sheet. Thinking about adding the rebound side in. All this time thought I had both. Had no idea they sold compression only

I think the com kit is the only one available for my 46 kyb 04 cr125 forks.  RT has this for the shock on my bike, know anything about this part ? IMG 2046

Anyone use gold valves on older suspension ?  Like 04 cr125 46 kyb.  It’s the only upgrade part available along with the pic above & a nitrogen extension cap 4 shock. Bottoming hard on huge stuff , forks . Would a gv help this ?
