AC should show everyone how quickly things can change with some injuries.

Very true. Go from being a arrogant stuck up amatuer to realizing your not able to cut it with the big boys. What do you do? Aww shucks. You turn into the wish.com version of Travis Pastrana.

Damn, this is a dumb take.

I think the "Dangerboy" thing was semi ok when he was a little kid doing grown up things on his bike.  But still pushing that narrative in any way now that he's older, isn't doing him any favors.  It almost makes him appear as a side show, instead of the blazing fast rider/racer that he is.

It's a known fact many top amatuers have cheated Dudemeisterx and no it doesn't mean a thing to me. I couldn't careless about amatuer racing. Go look up the shit show that was the Alessi and Millsaps families back in the day. Why don’t I care about amatuer racing? Because at the same time that was going on with those 2, there was a overlooked red head from Poulsbo Washington that was never even talked about. His name was Ryan Villopoto. It's only cheating if you get caught, and once your in the big show you can't get away with it and your advantage is gone. The cream will rise to the top. Is it fair? No. Does it happen? Does a bear shit in the woods? That advantage is gone once you get to the pros. Compare the careers of the 3. People put way to much stock in amatuer results. Look at all the "can't" miss amatuers that were chewed up and spit out in a year or 2 after turning pro. Look at the LeBlanc kid. If his Dad didn't star in Friends, do you think he just up and quit at what he's worked at his whole life? He'll be getting those NBC residual checks from his Dad's time on Friends until he dies.

Matt LeBlanc the pro rider is not related to Matt LeBlanc/Joey from Friends the actor.

The actor did ride back in the day and is a fan of the sport.

What part of his career is not a side show?

Daddy Deegs created it and used it to sell merch. He seems very adept at selling his kids to the public.

What is the go with all the you're a deegan hater comments.

For every 1 negative comment. There is 99 comments saying you are a deegan hater.

I feel like the Deegans youtube channel has basically set a stance that either you are a deegan fan or if your not. you're a hater. There is no middle ground.

Anyone posting neutral comments or analizing his performance from a factual position get shot down as a hater.

No other rider gets these your hating on this rider comment. I could say sexton is fast as fuck but crash prone. No1 would comment im a sexton hater. But a similar comment about deegan you're a hater comments would come from everywhere.

Don’t forget the “grown man hating on a kid” comment

The part where he is on a factory team and running top 5.

The rest of the "sideshow" is what marketing is now and they have turned his YouTube and IG into influencer level status.  There are teenage girls out there with millions of followers that do nothing but video themselves doing their hair, putting on makeup, going to the gym, and showing what they eat.  They are making HUGE $ off of that, so why not have guys doing the same in moto if they can pull it off.

Let's say for example, you could make $250K a year by just documenting yourself preparing to go to practice days at Chicken Licks Raceway, going to practice, showing what you eat at the track, and then washing your bike after.....wouldn't you do it?

He just turned 17 so like it or not ….. we will be seeing him at the top Pro level for a very long time.

Feld is already selling his T shirt so that means Feld sees the huge value in him.

I can’t stand Deegan. I’m a Lawrence fan boy.

but Damm! The kid can ride! He’s shown his maturity with not pushing and letting the races come to him. The speed is there. Just comes with time and adjustment.
He shouldnt have pressure to win. Sitting 3rd in points, consistent rides a little luck. The title could swing his way if he keeps riding the way he has.

I’ve got no issues with the kid himself, and think he’s got a promising future ahead. I do think his attention whore dad and the “danger boy” bullshit can go away anytime.

Lol. You are really still hung up on the motor? Do you honestly think if it was a "cheater" motor that the team and his Dad sat him down in a dark soundproof room and said "Dangerboy. We have a cheater motor that you could run, but it is your call...think long and hard on this decision" 😂 sounds like one of those Modelo commercials... "Dangerboy had a choice." 😂

I'm sorry you didn't get the support from your parents to become a Supercross Champion. Champion or not. If a pro rider with the name Ace Dudemeisterx lined up I'm instantly a fan.

Guess I better pull a hole shot at the very least.

Better do something. Doesn't sound like your parent's are gonna foot the bill Ace. Maybe you could set up an onlyfans account pretending to be a different rider from the 90's down to the late 60's. Some of the guys here would be all about it. If you want to be a Supercross champ you gotta hustle and get your name out there on social media Ace. 😂

Once you put yourself out there on something like onlyfans, it’s there forever.
While I may not be champion, I have more self respect for myself than that.

As a pro, I don’t care what he does. He can take drugs, cheat, ride with a concussion, take others out, put on a good show.  All they are are entertainers and he is responsible for his health. If he doesn’t care, why should the AMA or I?

If you don’t like Barcia, I would say the same thing thing. Still worried about that, that was last week, that was last year.

As far as those things as a amateurs, no. Deegan tainted himself.

Yes, of course they cheat and, it should hang over their heads. If they can’t compete in good faith as an amateur, I have no concern for any “career ending injury” they may cause themselves or during an encounter with Barcia.

Personally, I think of supercross as the sideshow, while we wait for the real season to start.  But that's just my opinion.

RC went 11, 19, 1, 6, 1 his first year in SX. It does show that his first race was a west round then he raced the east series. Maybe the rules were different back then.

CR was 17, 6, 5, 8.
KW 3, 2, 3, 3.
Jeremy McGrath 11, 8, 2, 8.

Not all the greats started off winning everything.

How about his dad? Brian Deegen 20, 16, 10, 15. So he’s starting off better then his old man.

CR’s 17th was as a kid visiting in a one off race on a borrowed practice bike, and the 6, 5, 8 was in the premier class straight up as a part timer in his first year in the US. Everyone else’s results are on 125s.

His real rookie results in 125/250f SX was 1,1,1,1,1,1,2. Imagine Vialle coming in and doing that now? But Reed wasn’t a world champion and was years younger….

Regardless none of it means much because every rider takes a different path and peaks at different times.

Sounds like picking and choosing what facts matter. Fact is those are his first 4 supercross races.

Reminder that MC had “showtime” on his butt patch in the C class. That one sure worked out though haha

The kid has so many “haters”. Yet,I don’t know if any of you seen the lines at the 250 Star rig the last few weeks. I don’t think they were there for Jordon Smith.

You guys can be jealous of a 17 year olds success. I’m just happy we have a young talent with this much skill coming into our sport. He is going to provide us with many years of amazing racing and entertainment.

Should have eclipsed MC's win record by now. If you don't have 73 wins or more, you suck.

You can't blame others mishaps. They all leave the gate together and managing mishaps is part of the game. He has the speed but probably needs to bring up his intensity level.

The lengths some of you guys will go to discredit his rides is just mind blowing, he’s doing an absolutely stellar job as a rookie and his improvement since the Futures race a few weeks ago is remarkable.  He’s exceeded everyone’s expectations by a long shot and looked surprisingly controlled doing it, that’s pretty damn good for a first season.

Have you noticed his turn speed, especially in small grooves/lines inside of tight turns?
