Dude's bike skills are insane, but he was never that good of a racer in comparison to the guys we see out there.  I think it would be a joke if he actually tried and certainly wouldn't be in any main events

I see him ride all the time and I think he has the speed for sure. I’m not sure if he has more than one or two really fast laps in him though.

He makes more than 90% of the 250 field riding his motorcycle in the hills with zero training. It’s a dream job.

Money isn't the be all and end all, he probably wants a challenge.

So you think he’s willing to give up six figures to start training and sit in the pits during main events?

I don't think he'd even make the night show, he's defo not making the main event. I can't remember if they interviewed him at mxdn or an outdoor race and he couldn't even tell them who was racing. He makes more money doing whips and so he should, being that he's one of the best at it

But he'd go from the dominant rider in his discipline to not the star anymore. So why would he even try. Nothing to gain and if does less than top 5, it's just fodder for people to talk shit.

You know far more than me. Still, I’m surprised to hear your confidence given his past racing results. No dig to the kid because he’s obviously incredibly talented.

I don't know if he's racing if he wants to race good on him.

Didn't he race a GNCC and his time matched the womens class?

Actually no, as the top woman won the morning race and he got 22nd overall about 8 minutes back.  But those girls fly and GNCC isn’t SX by any stretch.  I think Travis Pastrana also got beat by the girls when he raced the morning race at a GNCC.

How so? It's not like he would be getting a free pass in. For the record I honestly didn't think at first he could even make the night show. Let alone a chance of making the Main Event, but now reading some of the prior comments and thinking of the natural talent he has at jumping. I guess it isn't out of his realm to make the night show. Not to be a dick, but if he got a weak field like Vicki Golden did when she qualified for the night show, he would be a shoe in by jumping ability alone.

I thought the reason he started his freeriding gig was due to the fact he was not a super fast racer. Riding and bike skills does not mean your a good racer. Turn it around, can Tomac do double back flips? Doubt he can or wants too.

I bet he could if he wanted to, though.

So looking at the results from the 2015 MEC Am race he went 21-13.  Some big names were ahead of him with Forkner winning and Sexton 2nd.  He actually finished ahead of Justin Cooper.  I’ve changed my opinion a bit now thinking he may even be able to qualify for the 250 class if that’s his goal.  No way in 450.  But I do think he could make the night program in that class.

First I don’t think he’s ever had a money concern from birth.  Second why would he be giving it up?  I’m sure he has YouTube money as part of his income stream and this would only give more material for his videos.  Plus his main sponsor I would guess is Monster and they are the title sponsor of SX, so it’s not like they would cut him off for trying to race SX.  I hope he does try.

Doesn’t he need to score “amateur points” to be allowed to race? Does racing the b class at Loretta’s 10 years ago count?

Didn’t Friese win the “C” class one year.

Yeah why challenge yourself or anything?  No one’s ever done that before.
