If Hymas or Hawkins wanna get on tv they should go out there and kick Deegan’s ass. (On the race track, not actually assault him. Can’t believe I even have to write this part.)

I think a French rider world champ with a father that raced gp,s is a bigger story than the only 1 to do 10+ yrs of Bad videos. I think the kid now is cool & all. But the vids r dull & boring. People just want to hang out with someone that has some dough. Threw a video in other words Lame O,s. You see the post it was like yesterday he was on 65,s . Whoa get a life fat azz

I'm sure you're right for people who watch the GP's, but I never heard of the kid until about month ago, let alone his Dad. Don't get me wrong he did amazing for his first Supercross, especially since he didn't have any/ or very few Supercross tracks to practice on coming up the ranks. I'll definetly be keeping an eye on his progress. But Deegan fits the whole persona of what most Monster Energy Supercross fans identify with and he checks all the boxes. Famous family/Dad, Monster athlete, huge social media following, and he can ride the shit out of a dirt bike. That's a promoters dream. If he keeps doing what he did in Houston prepare yourselves, his camera time will be even more increased. The casual fans will continue to eat up his whole persona, especially if continues to do good. Yes I know it was only one race. But you never know maybe him and Jett could move our sport closer to becoming somewhat main stream with their increasing social media followings?

Your complaining about the wrong thing here. We shouldn't be interviewing anybody when there is bikes on track or just about to drop the gate. Another really poorly time segment

Frederic Tom,s dad won 12 125 gp,s. Lead 10 laps of Seattle sx in 95 and finished 4th. That means he lead the most dominant 125 sx rider ever Damon Huffman.

Can’t believe they didn’t have danger boy come out for opening ceremonies. Brian should’ve held him out tell he was given that respect

I agree Vialle was very impressive. However, he is 22 years old and has a MXGP championship, I think he should have a faster lap time than a 17 year old on a 250 for only the past year.

Deegan has been riding SX tracks since he was 5 years old, and he openly admitted was his strength and fits his riding style more.  Vialle has less than 5 months under his belt on a SX track.  That makes as much or more of a difference.

So when the Nationals kick off and Tom is winning motos. He gets a 10 second interview. While Deegan gets 20 min. Then you wonder why most people don’t watch Any pro sports anymore.  Pay attention to college basketball the under dog is the most popular. A walk on a non recruited player that lights it up is always the biggest thing. Ps no one watches the nba anymore.

You or I may think they're bad videos but there is over 1.2 million subscribers to their video channel....that doesn't include the casual viewer that doesn't subscribe....Dean Wilson who has 241 thousand subscribers to his YouTube is probably the second most in the MX community just to put it in perspective...there isn't anybody close....so even though Vialle is a two time MX2 champ he pails in comparison.

man... im not even a Deegan fan. but if you didn't expect Deegan to come in and have all cameras and eyes on him, your delusional.

There's a reason we have 30 odd threads about him. Of course they are going to involve and give the whole family air time. Its the dam Deegans. House hold names.

Yes, for the hardcore fans we don't care and we have other riders we like.. But the whole broadcast is targeting a larger audience.

Popularity and exceeding expectations = $$$$$$

If we all went in on a spell checker and grammar checker for you, would you use it?

We ask this with as much adulation and respect as you think you both convey and deserve.

The kid has had 1 pro race and he got 4th. I couldn't care less about his videos and have only watched parts of a few that seemed interesting. Social media is a huge marketing tool now obviously and is only going to continue getting bigger. But you don't have to watch them, just scroll past them. Their social media presence has obviously worked out great for them.

No denying Deegan had name recognition coming in, (even if RC DID call him Brian during the heat race).  I did not know Hawkins at all.  With the generational success the Martins and Plessingers had with off road dads and mx kids, I had to look him up to see if he was Randy Hawkins’ kid.  He is not.

I can’t believe how many Deegan haters have come out of the woodwork.  It’s funny how people hate on successful people.  Haters hate, winners win.

I've got a new nickname for all the jealous grown men who hate on 17 year old Haiden Deegan. I'm going to start calling them "Anger Boys."

I'm not a Deegan fanboy at all, and I've only watched a few of their videos....but if you haven't watched the videos and you're hating on the kid and/or the family, at least go watch the latest video from the race Saturday.

If you didn't know anything about Brian's past or the path Haiden took to get to where he is, I find it hard to believe you'd come away after watching that video with anything but at least a little respect for them.

I know people can put up a front in the videos, but it sure seems genuine to me. They don't act like they are blue collar workers who made it, but they also don't act like they were owed anything.

Just seeing his parents and sisters reaction during the race makes it hard to not respect them. Just seemed like any other family who's finally achieved something they've worked for together.

The only parallel I can come up with is the Alessi debut, and how that was handled and the arrogance the oozed out of that entire family. There is none of that with the Deegans, at least in my opinion.

NASCAR's brightest rising star, really?  She has been in the truck series for two years and in 46 starts she only has 3 top ten's.   She's in NASCAR for the same reason Danica was, I'll let you make your own conclusions on that one.

Just for reference RC made 68 truck starts and had 18 top tens and at the end of 3 years was out of NASCAR.

Just because I know they overhype Deegan on every level. I find it blatantly obvious the favoritism Feld and Monster Energy Supercross are putting on Deegan vs the other 3 rookies starting their first pro race. It was so awkward seeing an interview with Brian and his daughter that's completely irrelevant to motocross. Then they don't mention the other 3 rookies at all. Typical.

LOL, were you born yesterday.

In this world, you eat what you kill. The Deegans' have earned every minute of attention they get.

Admittedly, I've never been a big FMX fan, but I have a huge amount of respect for what Brian Deegan has done with his career, family and life in general.  At least based on what I know.  I'm not saying he's perfect, but he seems like a good dude that was one of the guys that basically created a new discipline of a sport in FMX.

Feld is putting on a show.  A show to make money.  The Deegan family fits the bill perfectly.  Yeah, Feld needs to find the right balance, but it all makes sense to me.

That said, did someone write that Brian Deegan is a household name?  Is that even possible in a niche sport?

Haiden looked embarrassed when the chick interviewing him said "believe the hype" he looked as a mechanic like "wtf was that?" The Alessi thing was a while ago and I doubt she knew about it and just said that because of the hype around Deegans debut.

She doesn’t have the results.  But it’s just a popularity contest.  I think RC left of his own accord as it was just too much time and he wasn’t seeing the progress RC needs to see.  At the same time she is a better return for the sponsors than RC was with better results.  Whether the popularity is due to a family name, gender, looks, or ethnicity it doesn’t change the popularity and how that benefits sponsors.  I know Bubba Wallace for one reason and it’s not because of his results.  If I look at last years results I’m sure there would be a few guys ahead of him I never heard of.

What a box of rocks, I will pass on the family interviews, thank you. "It's all about the social media Bro." Great advice for your pro debut. So good she had to say it twice.

you guys are aware of buying followers right? Purely using insta followers as basis for who is popular is laughable, nevermind Tik Tok, which is even worse. Jett is a massive star, Haiden is a rookie with a dad fully plugged into the media circus and all its tricks. Some of you dudes sound like you're typing with spiked shoulder pads on.

The old men yelling at clouds are out in force on this thread. You need stars in every sport, that is what gets the average joe to tune in and go buy tickets.

Things are changing with sponsorships now, race results are obviously still the most important but if even a quarter of the 1 million followers on YouTube and Instagram are seeing Haiden riding a Yamaha in Thor gear every video and Instagram post that's a big deal. He already has the following and is looking like he can get results of course the industry is going to interview him anytime they can.

And to be honest if I went around the office and shop here at work id bet more people have heard of Brian Deegan than Eli Tomac.

I wouldnt say im a huge Deegan fan but Its obvious why the industry is pushing him.

Where was the Hymas and Hawkins family when the Deegans were spending untold hours building their brand with YouTube videos and posting to social media?

Damon Huffman is the most dominant 125 SX rider ever?

The most podiums not sure if the record still stands. Would’ve been the 1st perfect season in 95 if not for landing on Tritler,s bike & landing riding double. You should know me by now, I always drop Damon,s name. Fredric also went 4-4 in the 94 des nations. 2nd moto he had a great battle with Emig. I never heard of Hawkins . I,m sure he is a great rider. But some of us would rather go ride than watch tv. I,m more concerned about winning a 125 state championship & racing in 4 states.

You think Star signing him is all due to publicity? Every 250 guy wants on those bikes. Roger wanted him on KTM but the Red Bull alliance stopped it as Brian was one of the first, if not the first MONSTER athlete.  What will the kid turn out to be? Don't know? But from every interview I have seen of his he has been more than humble about his goals.

And they revel in the fact that you hate them. As Barry Bonds said" You have to be pretty damn good for 70k people to yell you suck."
