Found this, figured I'd post it up.
Although the 2009 racing season is over, Ashley Fiolek remains very busy with a full schedule of activities and appearances in Los Angeles this week.
On Thursday, September 24, Ashley will be appearing at Washington Elementary School where she will speak to the students of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program from five surrounding school districts. The Burbank DHH program is one of the best in the State, and they asked Ashley to tell her story of hard work and dedication to the students enrolled in the program. She will appear with her Championship-winning Honda CRF250R and will sign autographs for the kids after the presentation.
Thursday afternoon will have Ashley appear in a presentation to celebrate her Championship in the lobby of American Honda. American Honda took the progressive step of signing a women to race in their factory motocross team, and Ashley returned the favor with the AMA Women's Motocross Championship and X-Games Women's Moto-X Gold Medal. She will meet and sign autographs for the employees of the company from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
Ashley will be at City Hall in Los Angeles, Friday morning the 25th. She will be recognized by the Mayor and City Council of Los Angeles for her achievements in sport and her inspiration to the deaf community in a special ceremony as part of L.A.'s Deaf Awareness Month. After a press conference on the steps of City Hall at 9:00 AM, Ashley will participate in the formal ceremony in City Council Chambers at 10:00 AM.
Later Friday, Ashley goes to NBC studios to tape an interview for NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly.
On Saturday Ashley will be a featured guest of L.A.'s DEAFestival. Organized by L.A. City Council Member Tony Cardenas and his staff, this is one of the largest festivals for the deaf community in the country, attracting over 7,000 people. Ashley will be meeting and interacting with deaf and hard-of-hearing children and families. She will be signing autographs at the Honda Red Bull Racing Truck and in the T-Mobile Sidekick display. The festival takes place from noon to 5:00 PM in Woodley Park in Van Nuys.
