Have bought many bikes from Chip over the years. Hate to see this for any dealer
SX is in Houston this weekend. Be on the look out for fresh 2-strokes out on the streets.
Full info here:

Asshole scumbag thieves!
I dont know about the TPI bikes, but they won't get far trying to ride a factory locked 4 stroke KTM group bike.
Looks like the majority of them are two strokes.
We gotta get back to punishing thieves. Chop off a hand for a second offense. It works great in many parts of the world.
I’m all for capital punishment in these cases, but what does this have to do with Supercross?
Don’t bring topical logic into the picture! I’m organizing an angry mob here!

Houston and many other cities have a problem with stolen off-road motorcycles being used for cruising the streets and riding wheelies. Maybe the timing is coincidental. I suspect they’re related.
The thieves stole a gooseneck horse trailer from Grosbeck, TX and drove 45 miles west to Waco and robbed Munn Racing and then was seen 145 miles south of Waco in Tomball (20 minutes north of Houston). These scumbags went on quite the trip to steal these bikes.
The whole wheelie boy thing is one of the stupidest things I’ve seen. It happens all the time in towns/cities with or without Supercross races.
Sorry to hear about such a big heist from Munn.
And with the built in program the bikes either wont run at all if the set up department didnt open the program or the bikes will run for 45 minutes then shut down and not run again.
They won’t be able to use any tbi bikes without a dealer unlocking the ecu
Vortex sales going up..
Funny I got a lifetime ban on the Washington post for saying the same thing. 😂
A Gooseneck from Grosbeck?
Did Mark Twain write this story?
Hope the bikes are recovered
Just my opinion.. I don’t have much of a problem with a bunch of kids riding around the city, the problem is if they steal bikes to do it. Riding around is a victimless crime, which means it’s NOT a crime. It annoys people, it frightens people, but it doesn’t directly harm people. On the other hand, thefts have a victim, and the follow on by law enforcement often means the victim gets nothing back, even when the stolen property is recovered from the thief. I can imagine the thief’s reaction to seeing a bike he stole getting crushed: he’s probably thinking “whatever, I’ll just take another one”
Whats today’s version of a mob with torches and pitchforks? Or asking another way, what can honest people do to actually fight back? Cause calling the cops isn’t working..
Sucks for Munn Racing, they’re good people.
Riding the streets is victimless until they crash into and injure an innocent bystander, then leg it.
the injured party is left a victim with no insurance pay out or compensation.
I don't think the guys you see doing wheelies downtown drive beater F350's, and I certainly don't think they would know what to do with a goose neck trailer. This group is selling these bikes, not riding them. My educated guess is they are headed for the border.
As for this being related to the Houston SX, Munn Racing is 3+ hours away from Houston.
I hate this for Munn, great people and they deserve better. I hope insurance covers the loss and damage.
Hit and run is a crime, it has a perpetrator and a victim. If that happens, police should step in and do their job. I’m just not a fan of giving government the ability to punish people for crimes that haven’t occurred or “crimes” that don’t have a victim.
Theft has a victim = crime committed
Hit and run has a victim = crime committed
Riding around for fun = no victim = no crime
Hurt feelings/making someone uncomfortable = no victim = no crime.
I’ve drug this off topic enough, Munn Racing is the victim of a crime and I hope they get their property back and the perpetrators get punished AF.
Pit Row
Apparently violence is the answer here at VitalMX. I worked hard for my dirt bike, but I wouldn't kill someone over it. Ya'll need Jesus lmao
Man. This area of Texas seems gnarly right now.
Not too long ago I got a truck, trailer and Polaris razor I use for work stolen outside a hotel. The whole package. Gone.
was transporting it from California to Georgia.
if anyone sees a funny looking Polaris RZR, completely built out with a crane arm on top of it. Keep me in mind. Lol.
we got the trailer and truck back. Trailer was empty. Tie downs cut. Truck was found 30 miles away. Idling in the side of the road, a week later with the ignition busted up.
Hanging was good enough for horse thieves. Same should be good for car, bike, ATV, UTV etc. This country has gone so soft on crime it’s out of control.
As far as wheelie boys, should be a bounty.
Unfortunately it is nothing new, I have had 2 bikes stolen in North Texas. The first in '90 and another one in '02. The first one was Wise County tweakers, and the second was a fairly sophisticated crime ring that would transport their stolen goods on cattle trailers and fence them through a motocross track in El Paso. Fortunately my bike was on a trailer with a quad that was stolen from a local district attorney, so that case got a little extra attention and they took down a multi-state organized crime ring. Unfortunately my beloved CR250 was already across the border.
This has NOTHING to do with the Houston SX...SMH
Well, Hugs and virtue signaling don't seem to be working. So....
What use is a garage door pull?
You are giving an answer to an entirely wrong question.
The question isn’t, are you willing to kill someone over your dirt bike.
Of course not. But that really shouldn’t be the question.
The question is, is the thief willing to risk being killed by stealing your dirt bike.
You may be able to replace your dirt bike very easily. No big deal if it gets stolen. That’s great for you.
Think about the parents who skimp and save. Maybe saving for a new bike. Or maybe they are saving for that big 75” TV they have always wanted. Mom picks up a few extra hours at work. Dad mows extra lawns on the weekends. They save and save.
Finally!!! Their hard work pays off and they get to purchase that TV. Or they get to buy that new dirt bike for their son. Or that new car for their daughter.
No imagine, some good for nothing dirt bag tries to break in and steal your stuff. Steal the TV or the dirt bike they worked hard for.
You are damn right they should be able to defend their property with lethal force.
Of course a TV or a dirt bike isn’t worth a life. But that’s not up to us to decide.
The dirt bag thief must determine if his life is worth the TV. Or worth the dirt bike
Mess around with my family and my possessions and find out.
Well,
If we chop off their throttle hands then that would ruin their dreams of some day racing a sx.
See, directly related....
And for those arguing it is wrong to shot someone for stealing a dirt bike, then where exactly would you place the line for lethal force?
If you surprised someone in the act of stealing from you and got a good look at them, what then?
What if it is in an attached garage? Wouldn't that technically be a home invasion?
If you simply let them go, then why wouldn't they come back and steal your next one?
Absolutely Gutted... Chip is one of the nicest, most genuine Guy's (especially from his era) I've ever had the pleasure of being around in this or any Motorsport industry. Whether it is lending us show haulers for SX / MX / MXoN, supplying bikes - everything under the sun - Big Dan & Chip are just insanely genuine, quick to make you feel like you've been friends for decades, etc.
Damn... really pissed to hear about this. Hope these assholes get caught...
Why?
From the upvotes and down votes it seems more people are in favor of chooting them over hanging them. They are dead both ways. I don't get it.
Those bikes are headed south of the border most likely.
Post a reply to: Munn Racing robbed. Just in time for SX.
