If STDog went to a 4-stroke, would it improve his results enough to get a decent ride?

After seeing his last qualifying time, he was about the same as Henry Miller (who's on a 250f) and it made me wonder. Personally, I think if he gets along with the 2 stroke, he would do really well on a 350. Hell, if he made a main on a 125 (depleted late season field) then surely a 250f would put him in as a regular Main guy right?

This can add a few questions too:

Would getting on a 4 stroke change his results enough for him to get a legit ride? Does he use the 2 stroke as an excuse?

I was a huge fan until his character showcased an unprecedented level of douchery, but as a racer would love to see him improve and grow results wise...

Not enough to get him a good ride.

Even if it did improve his results, which I don’t think would improve very much if at all. His character and shenanigans will be the reason he will never get a ride again.

Well let’s put it this way, he’s raced on a 250f before. And he did nothing special

It wouldn't change his results. He already said himself that he's the same speed regardless of the bike he's on.

Not at all.  If he spent more time on his mustache it may help a bit though.

Suggesting it's an 'excuse' fundementally misinterprets why some people go racing.

Secondly, the question isn't what would happen if he went on a 4-stroke.... it's why other riders don't take the opportunity to ride a 2-stroke.

Not a chance, 2 stroke is the only reason he is even ever mentioned.

Are you suggesting he is taking money off of his own plate?!

So Forkner is now up and stank is down? Crazy year so far for the tmz fans. Roczen still trying to crack it, I think he needs more hardship.

Taking a name from Steve Matthes, Stank Dog is lobster claw boy.  Just a side show like Ronnie Mac.

Stank is fast af for about a lap before the wheels start falling off. He hasn’t even won a lot of arenacross races. 1 if my memory serve s me correctly. There’s hundreds of better riders out there that either wised up or never had enough support to get noticed. Good for stank for livening his dream, but he’s not elite.

Damn, he's gonna have to stick one on his own chin if that's the case...

From what I understand apart from just liking them one of the main reasons he continues to ride a 2stroke is the sponsorship opportunities it creates for him? Certain companies are happy to support him because of the following he has and he makes possibly more money off them than half the 250 roster? I think it's pretty smart of him to be honest

He ran a KX250F in 2021.  Jumped to the TC250 last year.  I also recall hearing him saying (maybe on Gypsy Tales?) that his speed was similar on the 2 vs. 4 and he preferred the former.  There's no doubt that he gets more exposure for riding a smoker, so its pretty much a no-brainer.

Maybe his off-track persona is abrasive to some, but he's always struck me as a guy who was out there to have a good time racing bikes with his friends.  I can respect that.

Personally, I'd rather see a dude out there firing off at the hip on social media than another PR guy on wheels toting the company line.  That kind of person is what killed auto racing.

Abrasive to some?? Dude he goes on unhinged rants that are based on his alternate reality of publicly available information and/or videos.

I was referring more to his moto stoner bro persona.  99% of people don't follow this sport enough to know the full/true story of what happened at Arenacross a few weeks ago or that Steve Matthes didn't really call him fat.

Anyone following the sport close enough to know who Stank is, I would think would be aware of those things. It's not like he's on a cardboard cutout at the local dispensary or AM/PM.

He was "famous" for his two-stroke antics and fan interaction, and once he got recognition he went way off the deep end and feels entitled now.
