It’s true and you can say it gives him an edge. However think about how many ex pros kids with good access and money etc had the same opportunities, I’ve seen none as driven and determined as HD

Dax, Boespflug, and Cochran are all new to these factory bikes/teams (Less than 6 months). Curious to see how quickly they picked it up and how close they can keep to Deegan who has been on this bike for 1.5 years.

Also, surprised Hawkins can still race futures. I thought he would have had to go pro by now.

Yup that's what I'm seeing, he has the rare trait that all the good ones have, hating losing more than winning.

Also, in the past the monkey on the back is generally coming from a poor family, I think HD monkey is silencing the haters he will love to prove it.

If we're talking about ex pro's kids that made an attempt at going pro themselves, really the only one I can think of that sort of fits into that category would be Josh Hansen I guess, but I think (not sure, could be wrong) not even he had access to the same resources Deegan does/did. Pretty much the entire current field of pro's have been groomed to go pro since childhood, but I don't think anyone has been, for lack of a better word, groomed, as well as Hayden.

I'd like to see Casey Cochran win it, kid has a good attitude. Deegan will most likely stomp everyone into the ground though, kid rips.

So his brother Hudson should have the same career arc, right? He has the same resources as Haiden, arguably better.

I thought Hudson wasn't interested in bikes? Is he?

Hudson races...worked on qualifying for Lorettas this past year and raced Mini-O's. He has fully-prepped stock and mod bikes. But he's also interested in being a kid alot of the time (which is totally cool). He might end up being the most successful of all of them.

Bottom line is you can't buy ambition. That's Ape's, Echo's, and DrinkMoreWater's point.

You've got to have a major league work ethic to take advantage of opportunity presented to you. HD had to to that so rest assured that he's not being "given" much now. Bobby Regan doesn't give out rides, much less keep people.

I've been a CC fan too.

I believe that he's been a year behind Deegan through amateurs, like Deegan has been a year behind Ferry.

Major props to CC for lining up!

Casey is awesome, but very new to the 250. It will be great to watch and hoping for good racing and all these kids staying healthy.

Yep, high hopes for him in the future but I couldn't call how this will pan out.

Hopefully he's safe and learns a lot.

My point was that he'd probably wax everyone in futures because he's grown up on pro level sx tracks. I didn't say anything about whether or not he "earned it" or whatever.

The Triumph isn't ready yet...  Wink

There actually is a lot of guys with serious potential we've all been watching on mini's for years.  Seems like we should get a decent race out of this.  I do expect Deegan to win it, but it will be worth watching for sure.

Boespflug - Beaumer - Linville

Cochran - Deegan - Bennick

And even Hawkins...  Guys that can really get after it.

I’m not surprised hymas isn’t racing this weekend since he will do “select” East rounds.

Janik. I don't think he is hurt, so surprised he isn't there.

Yes, hadn't thought of Janik...  And if Hymas is moving up, I can see him not being there too.

Sounds like they qualify today for tomorrows race. Also the factory riders are on their “amateur package”. So who knows how accurate it will be comparing lap times to the pros.

Question is why isn't Chance Hymas doing futures?

He is supposedly riding for HRC Racing and training with the Lawerences.

Think he would be the first pick for Honda to race in the futures event?

Is it cause he participated last year?

Even SLR Honda who he raced for in Worcs/off road racing has a rig and team for this weekend.
