Well, crap,Oakland is Postponed...whatever that means!
With people hitting the deck at A1 and a few that were under the weather with colds and what-not...I can actually see this weekend "off" as a good thing for some of these guys.
A few riders took Monday off, and that's unusual after A1, due to being banged up and in a few cases we had riders that were still feeling the effects of colds/flu from the previous week.
When it comes to the guys that got beat up at A1? Well, that's obvious. The extra time off is a blessing. Guys like Pierce Brown, for example, will certainly benefit from a little extra recovery time; so, I'm not too bummed and I'll just wait for San Diego.
Not after only 1 round. Especially since Oakland was rescheduled to an off week later in the series when the guys bodies will be much more beat up, and could use a week off.
For selfish reasons I consider any week without moto a bad week.
Plus it’s the off season again
what he said.
Let's discuss important topics that are relevant during the off season, such as: So.....does Sexton's hair highights agitate you as much as they do me?
Discuss amongst yourselves.

No way. These dudes don’t want a week off. They just had a few months off. They are ready to rock and roll.
It’s hard to say without really understanding how much they actually bother you, but I could give you a definite maybe.
We're going to the desert this weekend, I was looking forward to watching a mudder out there but oh well no big deal here. I bet the team mechanics and privateers aren't too bummed about it.
So does this mean the droughts over ?
I concur...was looking forward to Rnd2...but I understand the situation.
At least he didn't go full McGrath with nipple rings and a very close man friend he supports.
You’ll have to ask Gavin
I’ll have nothing to do at work now I can’t watch the race
Somehow I think the answer will be no
some of you guys are so caring and sympathetic..
You don’t want them to get their booties muddy.
you don’t want the mechanics to have to clean all that mucky equipment.
Now you are happy for them to have a week off to feel better. Movies and duvet all weekend, right?
Me…? I just want to watch the badass races.
Where do you live? Unless you're up here in Norcal you would never understand how bad the weather is. There is roads and freeways under water, trees being up rooted, and people dying. Oh ya and the dirt in the stadium has been getting rained on since Wednesday of last week. They tried to build a track, but it's kinda of hard to make a Supercross track out of mud with 6 inches of water on top of it. But you are right I'm sure it would make for some badass races, especially with the rain that is coming down now.
Don't diss MC
Please stop making it sound like we’re going through a hurricane, yes it’s a lot of rain that has caused some serious flooding in areas, no this isn’t a natural disaster like Florida just went through. Anyone from states east of Nevada would laugh at our “torrential downpours” this week.
I just went 5 1/2 days without power and have been hiking groceries in since Dec 5th
Pit Row
This is a good thing!!!! Larry and Kenny will have a few more days to have that Suzuki "Slice'n N Dice'n!!!!!!
Tell that to the dudes that just got smoked by Tomac. After A1 everyone but the winner is usually back to the drawing board to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it, now they have another week. Guys are thrilled with an extra week of testing after they know what their bike actually does in race conditions.
What do people think was the best supercross, looking at the whole event, from 2022?
*If possible* without a reminder of the final results as my memory sucks now, so often it's like watching a new race besides class or manufacturer changes 🤣
I'll open it up to include 2021 as well, actually, I think replays got a bit dicey 2020 and further back (though I do still watch them sometimes, as I'm sure we all do).
I know Oakland is what it is, but I still need a substitute for this weekend.
I have been a mechanic and worked on race crews, this likely means a lot of those guys are not getting a pay check, and they would be lucky if the team puts them up in a hotel or lets them sleep in the van.
I’m laughing up here from Oregon.
Yep, raced Clark's Branch near Roseburg, in the 90's and some races had deep standing water on the track in the bowl turns.
Nothing more fun than 40 rider starts in pouring rain...
A bit different in the professional ranks with a lot of money on the line.
First off, glad they postponed. I saw enough muddy supercross races at the old open Fulton County stadium to last me a lifetime.
I would much prefer actual racing like we had at a1.
Now, I don't want to be insensitive. I am just curious how much total rain there has been in oakland in the last week?
I remember seeing a forecasts in a thread before the race was postponed, and it had a total of 2.25 inches predicted from tuesday 1/10 through saturday.
we get that here in NE TN regularly. often in a 24 hour period.
Do they just not plan on any storm drainage because it rains so rarely?
What is the main cause of deaths? It is for the entire state, so does it include winter related deaths in the mountains, and maybe road fatalities because people either ignore warnings or don't know how to handle standing water or other situations because they never have to deal with them? Is it mud slides where recent fires cause of a lack of vegetation to hold the dirt?
I am not that knowledgeable about cali. I have only been out there one time to work the first national they had at Lake Elsinore, and I can attest to the dirt being completely different than anything I had ever seen before.
I am sure people out there are surprised when we have a heat wave in the upper 80's here in the eastern states (with 90% humidity) and have a bunch of fatalities.
Help me understand about what is going on out there.
Oh, dude…If you could see the chaos and mayhem created by these people attempting to drive in this weather…you’d understand why they shut things down and why the county doesn’t want the SX to happen this weekend.
While I “get it” when a lot of us say,”Hey, it’s just rain!”…
It’s hammering and over-powering the Bay Area infrastructure.
Yes, but not after rd 1 and not at the expense of a break in the East coast schedule to travel back West.
With a week off after A1, San Diego is going to feel like round 1 on steroids
Damn that seems kind of F'ed up considering the importance of their role in the whole thing. Do they have to eat the extra expense of crossing the country twice now ? The teams don't cover transportation and lodging ? What about feb 18th or other off weeks, are they off the payroll those weekends too ? I guess I figured those guys were contracted for the season the same as the riders, and not so much piece price like your saying. Ouch...
Post a reply to: A week off? Can you see that as "A Good Thing"? I can.
