IMO, the Twisted Tea bikes look a lot better.

Agree...  But the Suzuki's seem to look really good as long as it's not a garbage graphics package.

I have to agree.   As dated as the zook is, it's still the best looking bike.

Nothing compares to yellow plastic on an MX bike.

Old Yamahas...  and zooks thru the years.

It’s my view that how the team works together is just as important as the bike and the rider. If one of these 3 is really off, than being brilliant in the other 2 is still not enough. e.g brilliant rider and brilliant bike (base) and team that can’t work is a problem.

The point is the team influence is bigger IMO than is often talked about.  I would suggest Tomac this year is an example.

Something-else that Sleet-Dog covered on the Gypsy podcast…

KR is alllll about feel. That’s something that a lot of us seem to “under-value”. He, Kenny, has already stated in interviews that he’s really stoked on the feel of the yellow bike & has really been benefiting from having Chisholm as a team-mate and set-up/test guy. He’s surrounded by a team a that’s “all about Kenny” (as far as WINNING ON the Suzuki 450 is concerned) and he seems to like that, too.

100% legend look at Reed on yellow and he is same if he has the feeling and gelling with the bike he can twist it. Reed did it on Yellow and what ever year Honda he raves about. Kenny is going to do some damage and surprise some. P

My 1st ride…ever…on a “dirt bike”…Tom Webb gave me a ride on his 501…I was 7 or 8. That’s the ride that set The Moto Hook.

My first real two-wheeled foray was on a Rupp mini bike in 74....   I ate shit.     ....but was hooked forever.

Some interesting observations as more detailed photos are surfacing.  As a nerd, and someone who has a soft spot in their heart for RM-Z's I was curious to see if there would be any works trickery on the #94 machine.  Some items jumped out at me from the pics on MotoPlayground's post on FB (apologies I tried embedding and it wouldn't let me).

-Stock clamps, sorta... They appear to be from the RM-Z250.  The casting seam and how far down they go (or in this case, don't go) are the giveaways.  The 450 casting seam is higher up and the 450 bottom clamp extends further down the fork tubes.

-Stock linkage.  At least it appears to be an OEM one.  Of course, there's no telling if they didn't machine one to be a slightly different length.  Of course, they could also be running a different length shock than anything we can get so it's all a moot point. Last year the team had JGR linkages on the bikes.

-Previous factory efforts dating back to 2010 had used an odd looking works oil filter/water pump cover.  They're sticking with what looks like an off the shelf Boyesen unit.  Small and probably insignificant, but it makes me wonder how much factory love they're getting.  I know last year they hired away a suspension guru from a factory team and I thought I had read they had works ECU's.

Also interesting is all the HEP guys are running the same setup (or at least were during the photo shoot).  Kinda surprising at least with the linkage when we've heard every media outlet recommend one to "fix" that chassis.

My reply was based on your comment that KTM had E start and nobody claimed it to be an advantage. I don't care either way. As you can see by my profile pic, I have a Kickstart. I just remember Troy saying it was why he switched...so he saw it as a big advantage. Nothing to disagree on, just a fact.

All those wins and championships the TLD Team have racked up since switching sure prove your point about how smart they are.

oh wait….

Oh you got me so good!

Am I wrong? Has that team just been killing it?  Was the e-start a “game changer” for them?

Sure seems to me like they mighta been better off sticking with Honda….

You are 100% wrong! Go ahead and quote where I made a point of 'how smart they are'.

I don't have to 'get you'...you always seem to do that well on your own!

I remember watching Ken here in Phoenix in 2020.  He won all three motos triple crown.

I really dont know, but i get the feeling kenny doesnt know how to test and is not articulate. Cant run your own team unless you know how to test and know what you want. Would love to hear Roger's, Mitch's, Ricky's, Kdub, and Chiz's takes on him, good or bad.

Hes great for the sport but i think hes a headcase.

Hes great for the sport but i think hes a headcase.

I think his history has caused him to be a "headcase" all his life he was winning that all he knew before he had the crash.

I was waiting and waiting for him to regain his form I thought it was his body holding him back I still think it's a big part of it, but the pattern is happening again hot at the start of the season only to pretty much quit by the end most people chalk that up as being "gassed out".

Then you see Kenny outdoors a more physically demanding discipline than SX and some how he can hang on for 2 motos and do very well same deal at the start of the season.

I don't think it's so much the body anymore it's like he has motivation at every start of season gets some good results but as soon as a decent or half decent result comes his way he gets deflated and in his head and it just compounds throughout the season to the point he's rolling around the track blaming the bike.

In short I just think it's not coming easy for him as it once did and he cannot handle that and starts blaming the bike and it just snowballs from there.

Like last year literally rolling around the track in the last rounds of SX then comes out firing in outdoors, it makes no sense.

I just want to remind you of Ken’s results by this time last year on the Honda..

do you want me to list his results so far this year on the Suzuki for comparison?

perhaps posting publicly isn’t right for you..

He’s won 2 races on the zook out of the last 22 races.  Batting less than 10%.  It’s cool though.  I’ll give him credit where credit is due.  I didn’t think he’d win any on it.   He’s a major talented dude.  Was always a title threat in the past.
