? Aluminum? I never even said that word. Not sure how strong of a place Im in but Ive been a machinest for over 20 years. (Im standing here machining on a part as I type this) I always thought "billet" was a gimmick word to get people excited. That is all. Even though it is a legitimate word it is not common in my work place. People all over the country use different words for different things. Sorry you didnt agree. Haha.

I agree with both of you to a point, I think it may be slightly different in Europe, as you say place to place we all come up with different shit haha 👍

As an example, it used to be if you bought a certain size chunk of round bar here, it may have imperfections or storage marks or not be an exact size or decent surface finish, like small dings where it's simply lopped off a hefty bar on the shelf, stored as such for god knows how long.

If you bought the same size and material 'billet', it would be clean, presentable, and ready to rock exactly as-is, if for example you wanted a cylinder or block that exact size for an application (ridiculous I know, simply as an example of the distinction).

I do see terms (cut bar, block, stock, billet) used interchangeably now at regular materials suppliers though, so perhaps production / tolerances have moved on and this is no longer a thing?

And I absolutely see it used as an almost meaningless marketing tool also!

I try not to be a hater when it comes to someone’s appearance, but I cringe whenever I see someone with their ears tucked into their hat. Please stop 🫠

Good Times

I wore a std Navy “ball cap” and tucking my ears in made them hurt less.

As an aviation guy and having read a few of your comments on the topic, your career intrigues me.

I can’t confirm this, but I’m pretty sure TeamGreen was a consultant on both Top Gun movies. 😉

Customer informed me last week that my hometown is the swingers capital, lots of upside down pineapples in the neighborhood.

Ha! Had to look up the meaning. Can't imagine it even being used here in the moto context!

Me too, but  "Yo, that's a lit kit" has a nice ring too it.  Or maybe I've watched too much Buttery on YT.

You should never judge anyone or anything because you’ll never know why people are the way they are. How ever I’ve listed a few things I don’t understand yet below…

- Privateers who don’t work a casual construction/retail/any form of job, yet ask that we (general working population) support their racing.

- Riders would rather blame the bike (that over 100 technicians/engineers/test riders have given their all for) rather then simply say “I haven’t figured out how to ride the bike to its potential”.

- Experienced riders making fun of “goons” or riders who are a bit sketchy but not endangering anyone else.
Motorcross is expensive, dangerous and time consuming. Not everyone has had the luxury of riding three times a week since they were 6.

- Those who are locked into paying a $1000 a month paying off their moto van, yet complain about a slight increase in the price of bikes, parts or track entry.

- 250 amateurs who unnecessarily limiter bash their bikes even though the parents buying the bike are struggling to make ends meet.

- Steve Matthes and the fact he’s always carrying on, being an asshole to his mates about petty issues (diet choices, the fact they don’t like _____ restaurant etc.). I’ll put him in the same category as the guys that make fun of your preferred beer.
