Anaheim 1 predictions | MXGP riders

This is always something that I look forward to! I messaged a lot of MXGP guys for their Anaheim 1 picks.

The best thing about this is they are unbiased and don't back guys on the same color. Story is HERE.

Nine riders picked Sexton to win the main and another eight guys picked him to be second. Interesting...

Not a lot of love for ET3 in that survey!  Is that because this is a hangover year + new bike?

You forgot * aluminium.

I will go with my usual 'Anyone but Tomac' .

But seriously, as long as its a good series, and we get plenty of winners, its all good, i dont see anyone running away with it,  i feel Ferrandis has been discounted, i think he will figure, and Anderson was strong last year.

It would be nice to see AC have a solid ride, i feel if this year doesnt pan out, he will struggle.

Also interested to see how Colt Nichols goes, i rated him on a 250, and i think he may have a Sexton like season with a few strong early rides.

Maybe because ET3 has never won A1.

He's never won SX, MX, and MxOn in a year either, but there's a first for everything.

True, but he always starts the season slow (with slow I mean usually out of podium positions), specially on a new bike. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't finish on the podium in the first two races, then everyone goes crazy on vital and then Eli wins a couple races in a row. Always the same story. Laughing

Dude, I can't believe I'm saying this seriously this time, but I kind of feel like Roczen is going to win. The dude has won A1 how many times? 57 times or something like that. I know you can never tell from the videos, but man, he has one where he's entering a turn so f'n precise and just rails right back out of it - it looks like gravity isn't catching up with him or something.

The internet is going to break if a damn stone-age Suzuki wins the first race, I bet.

Very interesting idea, I like it! Any cross-series discussion from the athletes is always welcomed....

I love this! It's cool that the GP guys are in tune with what's going on over here.

This proves it: I sent everyone a text at midnight Wednesday evening and they all replied by the time that I woke up...

That means they were keen to talk supercross, right?

Most guys gave detailed analysis to justify their picks too. It's really cool. They do dig it and will be watching, haha!

I think this is possible that this year, the A1 winner could be the champ. Especially if the A1 winner is Jason or Chase.

And Sexton has won what, one 450 race? How many 250 races even in supercross? I wonder if we are heading towards a Ferrandis, Allessi style supercross/motocross skills do not translate let down here. Musqin, Barcia, Anderson, Webb, Roczen have all won plenty more than him. I wouldn't be so skeptical, but history has shown some riders just can't do supercross.

I enjoy letting things happen as they may. any predictions that prove out should be credited merely as pure luck.

unlike other sports where, i.e. players are traded, in Supercross it’s simply impossible to call. there’s no amount it skilled prescience that could ever validate the speculation. to get it right will be to have only been lucky.

Comparing Ferrandis to Alessi is just idiotic. One is a 2x 250 SX champ and the other has never won a single SX race.

Sure, things haven't gone Ferrandis' way in SX since moving up to the 450 class, but he's heading into his 3rd year and things could change thanks to the new bike since he's apparently liking this model on the SX track a lot more than the previous model. He's shown that he's got the speed to run up-front.

He's got 2 podiums in 450 SX in 2 years filled with injuries. Alessi spent 12 years racing 450 SX and has 1 podium to his resume, a 3rd.

What about Cianciarulo? Everyone seems to rave about him and he's got no 250 SX titles and 3 450 SX podiums. Sure, he's won more races in 250 SX than Ferrandis, but that hasn't exactly translated to the 450 class now has it.

That is not a dig against AC. I'm a fan, but a lot people shit on Ferrandis because of his 450 SX results or lack thereof, but he's had just as much success as AC in 450 SX and a lot more success outdoors.

So is AC just an MX guy? I guess he must be.
