Amazing. I am old enough to "have seen it all" and this is very exciting, to me. I plan to buy a new leftover '09 next spring...my "style and speed" doesn't need an 'oh-ten'Tongue

The bike is very forward thinking. I love the innovation.

I'm surprised to see that the wet weight is 7 pounds above last year's bike.

some remarkable engineering ideas. the flow of air from front to rear is ingenious, as long as they can keep water out of it...

Yes, it looks good apart from the weight.

What a porker!

And given that the published weight seems to be lower than real-world weight 9 times out of 10, then it could be even worse.

$8k for a dirt bike. Yowza!

It will be interesting to see what the offroad guys do. Good luck getting an oversize tank on that thing.

It will be interesting to see what people think of the handling. On one of their web site vids they claim that it is the most nimble 450 available.

The 2010 YZ450 seems to have generated enough interest that it's brought vital to it's knees...or did someone leave the rag in the airbox again. Smile

Most page requests right now are met with "not available"

Looks like getting water in it will be the least of your problems. Looks as if it gets it's air up near the gas cap.

To me, it looks like it draws air from the blue (upper) part of the rad shroud, which has an opening inboard near the steering head.

The Cannondale comment was spot on (including the excessive weight), and I was also wondering about how a larger tank will be fitted.


The quad guys have got to be salivating over the likely release of the 2011 YFZ450. High HP potential, low CG, forward mount air intake, etc will work very well for the couch crowd.

This is definitly interesting. the new idea for mass centralization is good but I'd like to see how durable this is.

I would be more impressed if I knew Yamaha Dealers could get their hands on spare parts and knew how to fix them when they break. Cool bike though.
