No ego?? HA... You have to have some ego to come out of retirement and try and compete in any sport.

Exactly, Dowd still rides often too from the sounds of things, just at a local level, you cant compare the two of them.

If Ezra wants to come back and have fun, more power to him i say, good luck to him.

if EZRA does come back i am sure he can still go faster the 3/4 of the field that is out there now. from what i have heard he hasnt lost any speed but i have not seen him ride just what i have been told.
go have fun EZRA that is what it is all about anyway.

Im sure if Ezra kept himself reasonably trim and fit over his retirement that he could make a good comeback (top ten). His back and joints were spared abuse the years he was retired and I think he would have some youthful enthusiasm and appreciation for the sport.

What the hell do you know Bobby, you can't even see the Raiders suck every year..

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. It's just an opinion, just like yours is.

I think some of you think with your hearts and not your heads...

If he is coming back for anything more than fun, he will be disappointed, and so will whatever team he rides for..

Five years away from any pro sport, and it's going to be hard to come back to, and expect good results.

So Bobby, he comes back where do you see him finishing every week?? Top ten? Top twenty? 30?

Older guys always root for old guys...

Oh and guys like Ezra and every other athlete in the world lose talent and ability, it happens with age...

All that makes you and dad is inconsiderate assholes.
Who cares if he tries a race or two to see how he stacks up.
Let the guy have some fun, why do you care if he rides or not.

Lusk is my all time favorite rider. He is not a half asser. When he races he is all in. He might take a few diggers but at least he gives it his all 100% of the time. You can't say that for 90% of the factory riders out there IMO.

RALLENDUDE... I think i saw what you were reffering to. Monster Mountain for some ride day???

I dont know if anyone has seen Mark Barnett ride lately, but he still hauls the mail!! He still has the local A class covered wihout a doubt. Yogi was riding the main track, after gettinng his jetting issue resolved, i thought he was just criusing!.... then he passed an on the gas Barnett as if he were standing still! he didnt even look like he was trying. ... twas really a neat sight

Yogi still has it if he wants it.

I remember close to 15 years ago. I took my kids to their first national. Broom Tioga. Lusk on a 125. Clearing the Carmichael triple. We were right there by the fence, while doing that triple,he turned his head and looked over at us..My kids went crazy. Some thing I will never forget..
Go Ezra!!!

To all the non believers......

I spoke to none other than Ezra “Yogi” Lusk the other day, because I really want to line up a Racer X Podcast with him. Yogi’s in the backwoods of Georgia working out, playing tennis, and, yes, riding. It seems Lusk has been thinking about coming back to racing and has some offers on the table to come back to arenacross, supercross, the U.S. Open, and whatever else he decides he wants to do. Lusk is a multi-time winner of supercrosses and nationals, and he retired in 2005 after a broken leg suffered while he was on the Mach 1 Yamaha team. As he pointed out to me, he’s the same age as Tim Ferry, and his reasons for quitting motocross aren’t there anymore for him. He stressed to me that he’s not one of these old guys who sit on the couch and say “I’m better than these new kids” and that there’s no ego in the decision to come back (if he decides to) to prove something. He simply misses the competitiveness and the fans and wants to see how he can do.

damn straight. Yogi is a good dude IMO. And I believe it when he says it's not an ego trip. He didn't have that kind of personality when he was in the thick of it, can't see why that would change.

As far as competing, I think he will be more competitive indoors than out. Make the mains? Definitely.

I think it's cool, but right now with teams cutting back, the changing of the guard that's going on and the economy in the tank, it may not be a good time for a come back.

I did the same thing when I saw you ride LOLOL nobody gave me any dirty looks though ? You are such a WANNABE stuck behind the parts counter in the booming MX community that Iowa brings, you would think your attitude would have changed with all the ATV accessories you have sold this week. WANNABRECK no one else on here thinks you are as informative as you think are, why don't you put all this effort that you put forth on here to something to better you and your family in life.

oh i know and realize the raiders are quite possibly the worst team in football and have been since the sb against tampa bay...duh. but alas...i was raised near oakland california and have been a follower and fan since 69. what that has to do with the price of tea in china i don't know...you must though.

windham did ok after coming back. you must know that many racers have been doing this shit for years and are tired of it...it's a grind. motocross is mental too mostly so if you can rejuvenate your mental racing state you can many times do as well as you did before you quit simply because of your new aspect on things. for sx i can see this type of thing happening, not the norm but the exception....nonetheless it can and does happen. with mx, especially oldschool 45's twice a day the physical grind comes into play more and might be even harder to come back. just mho.

i have never liked lusk for whatever reason but more power to him if he can...pure speculation for him even racing at this point though isn't it? are we speculating on speculating? Smile

Wow... just getting my feet wet over here and can now see that I need not read anything that comes from Breck. What a looser.
To harass someones wife like that? Man, thats about as low as a guy can get.
DB did great until his accident that year.

Who the fuck cares where Yogi finishes, as long as he's out there having the time of his life with no pressure to perform? I hope he really does come back for a season or two!!

Here's and idea: How about a support class at say half the Nats for retired riders over 30, all on 125s? How cool would it be to see riders like Lusk, MC, Dowd, etc etc out there wringing the piss out of two stroke one-two-fives?? lol

I'd pay to see that show.

wrong Lusk is as good as Ferry and the only reason Timmy hasn't been doing well this season is injuries.. Lusk would be top 10 in the outdoors right now... he ran with Reed MC and RC in his day Reed is still winning and 10 years ago the depth was far greater when he was racing than it is now.
