Im expecting mx atv legends this week for the new xbox,  hoping its good.  Maybe I'll pick this one up too.

Are these any better than reflex?

I bought an Xbox 360 console and the Reflex game at a pawn shop. $55 out the door, and have more fun on that game than anything from the MXGP or MX vs ATV franchises

I enjoy these games. 4 and 5 were a step in the right direction as far as the bike movement, physics, and overall feel in my opinion. They need to make some updates to the rider gear, bike customization, and A.I. The same fonts and gear have been in the past 2 games now. The helmet customization was a great addition and if they can bring that to graphics for the bikes, that would be incredible. Cross play for online would be a big help too as I don’t believe that has been implemented yet. Either way, I’m happy we have games to choose from considering we are a niche market. I just hope Milestone keeps making progress and doesn’t just make these copy paste jobs, because they have been doing that in few aspects while making small changes elsewhere.

I don't know about the desktop version, but on mobile you can only "Watch on YouTube" after the built-in Vital MX video ads have played.

I don’t even get my hopes up anymore, I already knew it was going to be more of the same before I pressed play.

0:21 shows the same weak “whip” physics, 0:28 shows the same oddly-rigid whoop physics. Slow the video down to .25 speed and you’ll see what I mean.

They don’t even attempt to make improvements to the physics, just reskin the riders with the newest rosters like EA with most of their sports games. So yet again, I’ll be speaking with my wallet by keeping my $60 in it. Guess I’ll get my racing fix in when the newest Forza Motorsport drops early next year.

Glad we have a game to play. But it would be nice to see them update it a little more. And why are we still a year behind why not base the game off the current years supercross championship if it doesn’t come out for 4 more months. Might as well just release an update that costs money instead of a whole new game.

What Milestone should do, and i know it would take man hours. Is Release a base game in December no official sx tracks... Then as the season goes, Drop each track the Sunday Morning before each round. I think it would add excitement as people will race the tracks that havent been made yet in real life.

Other than that, imma pick it up.

There's a few well know track creators that will do this as the season goes on.

Need to stop releasing this as separate games. One base game, then release "seasons" with content and engine updates.

Player base would grow with everyone being on the same base game. They can make money off of cosmetics (gear, parts, graphics).

Even new bike models could be sold as they are updated in real life. Just don't give any performance advantage (don't want any pay to win mechanics).

But what do I know...

Just wish they'd open up the game more.

1). Custom track multiplayer tourney racing - Why did they take it away?

2). Custom naming your room to attract racers.

3). More options/objects in the editor allowing all objects to be reversed etc.

4). Allow custom track search by creator name

5). Stop the auto shift from automatically going to 2nd - even while in the air

6). Allow realistic fonts for names and numbers

7). Widen the custom tracks 10%

8). Allow for riders to land on tops of Tuff blocks and throttle off of them (Like RC) - Just touching a Tuff block shouldn't always end up in the rider auto ejecting

Not baggin. Just love to see this game continue to get better and better.

Said it before and I’ll say it again

custom tracks should be 3 real stadiums (Anaheim, Arlington, Atlanta) so you have one of each template

and then the pre-made layouts they already have

It irritates me that they put so much emphasis on the training and compound side... Does anyone like that?

I don't know why that's the main focus of that trailer rather than, you know, the actual championship. Weird.

This right here. I can't stand having to "train" and grind it out to make the game play better. I just want to race. And the game should load so fast that I don't need a compound. If you want a compound then choose free ride and let players free ride that way. Otherwise, I want to race dirt bikes, in the racing game that is about racing dirt bikes. Another thing  that kills me is drive across the compound to talk to Billy Joel about your bike. Then drive across the compound to talk to Pepper Ann for your contracts. Then drive across the compound to start your race.

Yeah, I'm the same. I have no interest in free riding, completing skill challenges or anything ridiculous like that...

I want to race, in a proper race that is as close to the real thing as possible. That's the only box that I want ticked.

Imagine how much time it takes to build the compound... I wonder what would happen if they put that time into the racing.

Also, (i know this might sound needlesly picky, but i don't give a shit anymore at this point):

The jersey and bike fonts. For the love of baby jesus could someone enlighten me with this ancient forbidden knowledge, WHY CAN'T WE HAVE DECENT FONTS?

Pretty much everyone that plays MX games already know how to race/play the game, so the training aspect of it is irrelevant.

Forcing it down people's throat is just idiotic. My guess is that it is useful for maybe 1% of the people that end up purchasing those games. Not to mention those people most likely have no idea who any of the riders are, so why bother catering to that market?

There's no tutorials when playing F1 games. MX games should follow in those footsteps. There's driving aids, but there's no such thing as explaining how to go through a chicane.

I wish Codemasters was interested in our niche sport. It seems like that's our only hope to have a proper MX game.

I agree…. It’s ridiculous that the rider or the bike handle like shit till you level up. I don’t care about training and 1v1 races at the compound.

I actually really enjoy the Milestone games, Monster Energy Supercross 5 as well as MXGP2021.  I must admit I DID NOT like these games when I first played them, and I agree the gameplay is pretty bad when played in the third person.

First person is definitely much better.  I even play in the goggle view so you have to pull tear offs to make it that much more immersive.

I’d also recommend manual transmission, MUCH better than automatic.

When played in a first person view and with manual transmission I’d say the game is pretty realistic.  You ride the Supercross tracks like you would in real life; second gear most of the track, shift up to third mid-rythym section to triple something, third in the whoops, third-fourth on longer straightaways.

I definitely think the air physics could use some work.  I don’t love the pre-animated whips and scrubs.  I wish you could whip/scrub like you used to be able to do in Reflex.

I also agree on the desire for more bike number and jersey fonts.  The custom helmet thing is nice but it would be cool if you could choose a helmet model rather than just having the one generic helmet shape.

There are lots of great custom tracks you can play.  I have a list that I keep on Apple Notes of my favorite custom tracks.  There is a “Favorites” category where you can save tracks to but it only holds so many.

I did buy MX vs ATV Legends but I just can’t get into it. I want to like the game, and I give it another shot every few weeks but I just can’t get into it.  The gameplay feels very arcade-y, I don’t like how you drift in the corners etc.

I’m excited for Supercross 6, and I hope that there have been some improvements to the air physics.  It doesn’t seem like a new MXGP game will be coming out.  Has anybody heard anything on that one?

I agree. The Milestone games in FPV are miles ahead of any motocross/supercross game. I never get the feeling of a good race in MX Sim or MX Bikes. These games have it down (in FPV). 3rd person view needs a ton of work, I'm not sure why that isn't the 3rd view option instead of FPV.  I'm an IT guy and tried to get MX Simulator setup prefectly. Downloaded Red Bud, multiple bikes/skins..the gameplay is still off no matter how much adjustments are made. The Milestone bike physics feel legit, but in 3rd person view they look terrible. It's like you either have to scale it for 3rd person view and make it more arcadey, or make it tough and cater to the hardcore FPV people. IDK..

I mean ...don't they see a massive sales decline about after 3...and maybe change something... McDs puts a little more effort than these guys when making a filet-o-fish..

I’d love to see a little more customization options. I think they should have a selection of triple clamps, xtrig. Neken, ride engineering etc.. maybe the option for clutch plate covers, Hinson, rekluse. A kit suspension compared to just stock with valving and springs, like do I want the stickers on the stock forks or do I want the stickers with some anodizing and coating? Idk maybe even choosing a polished transmission and head compared to just running stock. Maybe I’m asking way too much. Also I’ve always loved the idea of starting on a 85 or supermini, running  a qualifier or two and going to Loretta’s, work your way to schoolboy or maybe skip and go to 250 B and then A before turning pro. I’m sure they can make 3 or 4 outdoor tracks to mimick the qualifying races and a “Loretta’s” track. Maybe get signed to a team before pro or have to start as a privateer or on a satellite team.. I think motocross/supercross is much different than any other sport and what makes it is journey.

Use last years tracks with this year’s roster if anything. And for the love for God make 12 outdoor national tracks so you can do an outdoor series championship. Doesn’t have to be official tracks for that. It would be the best game

Buy Mx Bikes and be done. This rinse and repeat shit is old. At first I wanted to support them, but they don’t even listen to things that would improve the game.
