I've been watching AJ's videos on youtube, I grew up riding with him, I noticed how they seem to have almost taken him "under the wing". As a fan I find it very cool, and fascinating to see it develop.

I guess my question here is, what do you think the Lawrences get out of it? Obviously AJ is a good riding instructor ETC, but it does seem intriguing how someone who hasn't really seriously raced in a few years or ever got on a team is now living with the some of the fastest motocross riders on the planet? Very cool to watch unfold however and hopefully some sort of school is set up.

I also noticed that AJ is "training" for the 2023 SX series, so curious how to see how all of this plays out, and if anyone had any intel or thoughts on it.

Sometimes people get along really well together, no matter their speed.

You mean to tell me there are people out there who have friends in real life?

I don’t understand…

It’s like this. Motocross is more of an individual sport. You can’t be friends with people your own speed because that’s your competition. This includes team mates and family members. You also can’t have friends that are slower than you because they’ll just drag you down. Basically if you ride dirt bikes you can’t have any relationships with anyone else who rides dirt bikes.

Right?? Why is it so shocking that some people just get along and like to help each other these days?
I'm guessing maybe the Lawrence brothers also invested in AJ's business ventures.
I've been critical of AJ before, but I respect what he's trying to do and hopefully his success continues.

I mean, this industry is very cold hearted. It wasn't a judgement or a negative view of the events, just trying to see others opinions on what's going on in the off season.

My guess.
Ajs manager is lucas mirtl .
Lawrence's manager is lucas mirtl.
Ajs business was going OK but not huge.
Mirtl pays the Lawrence's a fee for some training/promotion.
Everything moto academy/ Lawrence's goes off the charts.
Mirtl gets aj to sign jett a percentage of the business In return for his contribution.
Moto academy stock skyrockets.
Win for aj
Win for lawrences
Win for mirtl

They gain exposure out of it on AJs platforms and vice versa. They seem to just get along good also though

I didn't mean for my post to come across as judgment either man, sorry if it did. It was more a generalization of the current cultural climate.
I'm not a Lawrence super fan, and like I said I've been critical of AJ for sure...but still think it's awesome to see the collaboration and success.

No problem, appreciate that! I to love to see people collab and build off of each others success.

Along with the business side of it, seems the lawrence brother like interacting with the fans and doing the classes. It’s a win all around

I think it's 100% aj gaining exposure off the Lawrence's.
Ajs platform was decent. Ajs agent lucas mirtl. Used the Lawrence's to get ajs platform to the next level.
Then to keep it at that level aj and jett collabed.
But I believe their friendship is genuine.
And the idea for the collaboration was due to ajs most successfully videos being the Honda test with jet and Hunter and the training day. So it just made sense.

Reminds me of CR22 being best friends with JT and James Stewart hanging with Sorby (that was an odd match-up).
Edit- I had to turn it off because that abysmal filming was making me seasick.

It's a win for both parties really. AJ can use it to train for sx while also making great money off youtube monetization. The Lawrence bros can charge him rent or whatever plus have someone else to ride/train with.

As a side note does anyone here think that AJs riding style looks awkward? I do.

Not talking shit, but why does AJ have/need an agent?

I mean obviously this is why. It just seems like such an unlikely upside to this somewhat unorthodox relationship between mx youtuber and manager to the stars.

Good question. I know aj does all his own booking for his moto academy stuff. Maybe it’s to seek sponsorship.

I don't think AJ has an agent... I think they are friends. If Lucas works for AJ, it's on a small scale and probably for free. Like Above, win win win for all. AJ is a solid dude, He has a good platform.

Seems like a lot of people just want to hate on him for having a fast friend join along in the business.
Oh ya, does anyone remember Hunter is there too. wow

AJ is the cartilage that the brothers relationship needs, motoing down together may not be sustainable forever and now they both have another sparring partner- awesome brand leverage for Aj too!

Yeah he’s definitely a good trainer and knows his stuff but I think he does look a little funny at times. Jett’s looks kinda similar to AJ but much more natural

I wonder if AJ exaggerates his form at times for a better visual of what he’s getting at

Shit, it is almost like people can be friends without asking “what’s in it for me?”

There's also the fact that AJ has been around for a while, and you can't buy experience. He probably has some knowledge that can help the Lawrence's out as well.

Agree, the Lawrence’s are thinking of the future after their racing careers, and will have a school set up ready to go

I guess the sarcasm in my post was missed by everybody. Laughing I’ll make sure to put the “ /S ” at the end next time.

Probably the best thing for the boys to keep them focused and not falling into the traps of parties and chicks.

One heck of an inside look at potentially one of the next “greats” of the sport
11/27/2022 6:30am
AJ was building an interactive app for his riding academy that would break down videos of riders. Lucas heard about it and thought it would be a great platform for Jett to be seen on and help his popularity, Lucas talked to AJ and put the deal together and they became friends.

There’s a few more details than this, but you get the gist.

Do you guys really thing the Lawrence brothers need help with exposure? You must be living under a rock.

My experience with Hunter. I met him at Milestone just before the USGP in Florida. He and his dad pitted by us. He had a stock display bike RMZ250 and a plastic bag with a few tools from Ace Hardware. So I loaned Darrin a few tools to get set up and visited a little. He told me they were coming to America with Geico next year. I actually got a text from Hunter one time saying they were going to be at Milestone and come out. Another time I swung by his pit and said hi, he was testing so didn't want distract him. When he was finished he swung by our pit to say hi and visit for a few.
Who does that?
They are very down to earth and don't seem to want to forget where they came from. Their whole approach is different due to what they went through in Europe to get where they are now. They did not take the silver spoon route to success.
There is nothing to gain at all from their association with Catanzaro, I think they are really just friends.

My only issue with AJ is insisting you should stand in every corner. I have gotten some really good advice technique wise by sending him videos of me riding though. It is really cool what he has built and that he’s looped in the Lawrence brothers.

Whatever the situation is, it’s mutually beneficial, either financially or mentally. Maybe the Lawrence brothers really enjoy giving back, and don’t see any fiscal downside?
