Pre pandemic everyone was talking about how cheap they were, and I just heard on Blair's podcast a dealer saying how many he had in stock. One of the local dealers is showing it at sticker of $9k for a 23 RMZ450. I don't care to hear the suggestions of buying a 5-year-old or more bike because they are the same. I'm not in the market for one, I'm just curious what people are paying for them.

Agreed. Definitely not enough going around already.

Come to think of it, we should change the name of this place to SuzukiMX.com and only talk about Suzuki.

If you are simple and just want to think of it as a Suzuki thread, go ahead. I was posting it more as a MC industry thread, Are people getting smoking deals because of the reputation or are dealers sitting on them?

It is also topical because if Kenny does ride a HEP Suzuki it will be the biggest pub they have had since Millsaps was leading the series.

I was just thinking the other day, while slightly outdated I think the Suzuki is still a competitive bike and is capable of winning at the pro level and at the local level nobody is capable of riding a 450 to its full potential anyway so why not save some money and nobody that identifies as a real man needs an electric start the kick starter is fine and you won't get stranded in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery plus they corner really well and yellow is a great color. Anyone have similar thoughts?

Just throwing some sarcasm around since there have been so many Suzuki threads.

Some guys are getting greater deals on them because of their relationship with their dealer. Others are getting deals because the dealers know they will sell if they are X amount less than other brands. There are also other dealers out there trying to sell them for full pop and more and those bikes aren’t moving, which is understandable. I walked into Chaparral a year and a half ago to see a new RMZ with graphics and a pipe on it with a sticker piece of $13.5k before taxes and fees. I laughed and said out loud that bike will never sell while walking passed the sales guy.

I’m an RMZ fan even though I don’t have one anymore, but I can easily admit that the chances of them selling drops significantly if they are being sold at or near MSRP.

Some of you guys make me laugh, you remind me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. We have Thread Nazis. You know what I do when a thread title doesn't interest me? I move the fuck on and don't even open it.

Well, seeing how a month ago one of my threads sold about 6 or 7 Turbo Levos and saved each guy about $2k I don't think I'm that bad to have around. You can always scroll by.

Good post actually as I saw a shop online selling them at a base price of 4999.00. I had found the shop's site last week but for whatever reason can't find that price now. Maybe they sold out at that price?

Thanks, but you didn't have to say "actually," lol

I've spent 15+ years in the industry and I'm interested in any topic about the industry. I have a junk arthritic knee so an e-start is important for me but $5k would have a real good chance of turning my head.

I think this is a valid thread and i'm also curious what people are or have recently paid for a new Suzuki

IMO, if the OTD price is anywhere in the low $7ks that would certainly be enticing.

I was going to say just the opposite: Suzuki hasn't updated their bikes since 1999 so why would you ever support that kind of company and they are going out of business anyway because we all know that American Motocross is the only business venture they could ever possibly be interested in and they stopped selling cars because they got sued or fined or maybe it was the same economic reasons that several other automobile manufacturers pulled out of the US market that year but whatever, I digress - nobody who is anybody has ridden a Suzuki in the last 20 years so if they aren't then you shouldn't either.

Cool

Well.. I didn't buy a Suzi today, but I finally got one sold... been on CL/FB for months... finally got a cash offer for 300 hundy less than my already reduced price... I didn't get "terrible" money for it... but it took forever to sell...

btw... for you guys looking to buy new... December is by far the best month to do so... especially for cash buyers... I would expect a good chunk under MSRP OTD right now on anything but the hottest models....

Cash is the worst bargaining chip ever at a dealer. They make less money if you pay cash. Never tell them you are paying cash until after the price is agreed to.

Speak with your wallet everyone. If we all buy a brand new Suzuki RMZ then we’ll send a message to Suzuki and they’ll update their bikes. Lol
