Or it’s really just a show pony without internal components..
I’m just very sure that most people will choose the eMX bike in a few years, just like today most MX riders choose the 4T over the 2T.
I hope the ICE bikes stay around for pro racing and the occasional Sunday. Everything else will be electric. They‘ll blow the ICE bikes away in terms of performance and handling.

I think it will be closer to 20 years, than 3 years, before e bikes are even close to replacing ICE bikes in terms of popularity (similar to what 4 strokes have done to 2 strokes)…all major manufacturers have to roll out bikes…and battery tech has a loooooong way to go.
I look forward to the prices coming down and being able to buy a Yamaha EMX bike with 100 miles of range (or a quick change battery I can swap in a minute or so at a pit stop, and get 100 miles out of two batteries) at A class speeds in the desert…I love the technology…but I just think we are a ways off yet…like over a decade.
Do you really think a regular bike can beat an electric one in terms of raw, one lap speed?
Assuming that Stark delivers what we have seen at their test in Spain and they can do a moto at pro speed, people will switch and they will immediately sell more motocross bikes than the other brands, which will force the established brands to bring their own eMX bikes.
I‘m just talking about motocross. You won’t get a 100 mile range out of a electric dirt bike weighing 240 pounds.
As for racing: we have to wait if it can do a pro moto at full beans, but it sure as hell will have enough battery for a weekend warrior‘s 15 min moto.
I’m an engineer and work in the thermodynamics department of a company that builds four stroke engines for ships and power plants.
What do you do for a living?
Please, answer my questions from the post before. I will stop posting, if you can explain. I promise!
So boutique brands (like stark and Alta) won’t be able replace ICE bikes and force the OEM’s hand.
The major OEM’s will eventually roll out their own EMX bikes, and then you will a major movement to towards emx…the price point will be much lower than stark could manage, and perception from consumers at that point will be that it’s a viable bike and then you will see a massive shift to EMX bikes. But assuming you are right about the range…there will never be a massive wide spread adoption of EMX bikes. Most people have one bike, and do multiple types of riding, so EMX bikes won’t be the bike they buy…
I have no stats or studies to back that up…it’s just my opinion based on my own experience and why I’m not buying a stark but wouldn’t hesitate to buy an EMX bike from a major OEM. And I know for a fact I’m not alone.
I’m also a mechanical engineer. I did my undergrad in ME and worked in research with renewables. You didn’t specify much there either. So I’ll leave it at that.
Nobody works for “thermodynamics” so I’m inclined to think you’re a draftsman or something.

You’re an engineer, you should be able to give a reasonable explanation. I will stop posting, as I said.
But you guys fighting to the end in here over EV can’t beat ICE are crazy lol.
I was at SEMA this week myself and the Tesla were destroying the ICE vehicles in the competitions. Was sad really.
Also look at the plaid’s running quarter miles in the high 8’s, no ICE car is doing this as comfortably as the EV.
But ICE has its strengths too, just not in performance in most instances. But you sure can’t beat the sound of ICE!
