For a man to spend $44b , just so he can walk into a building carrying a sink...

Its properly funny to see the Left losing its shit because ' a billionaire being able to purchase a media outlet is a threat to democracy', while choosing to ignore the fact that all the other forms of media that have banned free speech, are run and owned by billionaires. Irony much.
There is a very good chance that this moment could be pivotal in the downfall of some major players.
If you think this is a bad thing, you are not part of any solution.
And the funniest thing, they sued him to make him buy it.

Hilarious that after he put that sink down, he fired a few of the major players in their little censorship hierarchy.

This is huge IMO
Reading people quoting grizzling leftists back to themselves ' Its a private company they can do what they want' is utter gold.
And the people he fired, they are the true insurrectionists.

I don’t care if your a republican or a dem, this is a good thing to mend the bridges that politicians have burnt down.
Sonny Bono was a restaurant owner in Palm Springs and was having a problem with a city bureaucrat that kept him from putting up the sign he wanted. He told the guy he was going to run for mayor and then fire him. He did run for mayor and won but did not fire the guy. He just had the ordinance changed.
Fired CEO…a CEO that has said publicly he has NO concerns with Free Speech or anyone’s rights…he said it’s alllllllll about controlling the content. His commentary seems to have motivated Elon.
He’s GONE!
CFO - Gone
Head of “Legal, Trust & Safety” - Gone (she really shit the bed on Rogan and seems to be another catalysts of the purchase).
About the 3 fired officers…from Reuters:
“He had accused them of misleading him and Twitter investors over the number of fake accounts on the platform.”
Some 700-1,000+ employees (depending on what sources you believe) have left Twitter since the board’s acceptance of his offer (late April). Up to 30% of them (silicon valley news reports) have gone to work at other social media platforms.
Other Musk intentions:
Lay-off up to 5,000 personnel (work force estimated at 7,500-8,000).
Fire the Board (there were stories that he’s already done this…he hadn’t; but, now that they’ve suspended trading -Friday- and are going “private”/stock trading on NYSE ended 10/27..& the board is “paid out”…)
Pretty sure he ain’t gonna need “Jack’s Board”.
Move from San Francisco? That’s a rumor I heard from locals…in Silicon Valley…
Then there’s the whole reason he “went there”…
Apparently he’s already opening up the platform & reinstating “The Banned”. Nice!
What I’m still laughing about…
Allllll sorts of Media outlets are owned by billionaires and manipulative ass holes…examples for the record:
Washington Post is owned by Bezos
COMCAST is controlled by Brian Roberts
That’s HILARIOUS!
Why?
Those very “outlets” and their minions are losing their “hypocritical shit” over Elon getting in the game!
And here’s what’s REALLY pissing them off…
They know they’re gonna LOSE THEIR MANIPULATIVE CONTROL OF…

I like Musk just cause he stirs up shit. But this guy makes some real points.
"Ligma Johnson" LOL
Pit Row
Never heard of any of them.
Funny how they felt the need to broadcast their exit.
It's almost like they thought they'd be missed.
Or their dozen or so followers would beg them to stay.
“Alas, I must leave you all due to my virtue and purity of soul…yada, yada, yada…”
I’ll bet Scooter might have a few examples by one “intellectually suicidal” member that has a habit of public drama in his pursuit of Kardashianesque-wannabeism.
Calling a man a pedophile for not kissing his ass. That was classy.
Pump and dumping stock? PayPal? How much money has this man stolen?
Elon is a smart guy. He's also a huge prick, and anyone who likes him hasn't been paying attention. I too thought he was a chaotic good, I was wrong.
Bravo Elon.
And trying to rehire people he just laid off? Lol
And if you dont think that the fire and rehire thing doesnt happen all the time, you never worked in a big company
I have seen it at least 4 times, and in 3 of those, people never even left the building... its all about headcount.. ' we reduced headcount by 2500' sends share price up, they dont tell you they hired 1700 back as contractors.
Real World stuff
And Jack Dorsey said 'i hired too many people , too fast' .
Sounds like a justified decision to me .
Who? YouTuber Ethan Klein and Comedian Kathy Griffin are the two biggest I'm aware of.
Elon's cries about their massive drop in revenue and advertisers posting exactly why would be really funny, if people weren't also out of jobs.
