I haven't ridden any of the 23 models, but it seems the general consensus is that most prefer the older chassis and motor. I bet we see some sort of refresh for 24 as the 23 is getting a ton of negative press.

For 4k cheaper I think the 22 is a no brainer.

The new chassis needs more break in time.
A lot of the press rode the bike new there is the problem.

First hours I thought I had made a mistake buying the 23, stiff feeling/ initial corner feel was slow

Give the bike 10/12 hours, my opinion it feels completely different.
Way more stable less vague feeling then the old chassis
So I don’t hope they change the chassis again in 24…
Factory teams are struggling with the new chassis. Frame break isn't going to be drastic enough to fix it over stiff issues.

2023.5 and 24 will have an updated chassi compared to ktm 23.
A less ridgid frame will the new bikes have.

The 23 bike is stiff, harch and feels more cramped than the 22 bikes.
I did have a ktm 350 2023 and sold it with 20hs on it. Tried stock stuff and trax and conevalves but it didnt feel as good as the old chassi.

The 23 engine is Nice with the quick shift but thats all.

If u are a slow rider or only ride sandtracks you might not feel the harchness of the 23 bike.

A less ridgid frame will the new bikes have.”

I have a 22 GasGas with vortex mapped by xpr and cone valve forks and absolutely love the way it handles. I haven’t rode a 23 but I’m waiting for hopefully a updated chassis on the 24. I like riding my 350 more than my 450 Kawasaki 450sr.

If you don’t mind me asking how much do you weigh? I have a kx as well but never thought the older 350’s had much if any bottom end at my weight.

Just picked up my 23 last week. Put 3 hours on it so far and I love it. Motor is great and chassis isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be on here. It is noticeably more rigid in the rear but that’s expected with a new bike. Hoping the rear becomes more compliant with time.

I came off a 21 350 that I loved. If the price difference was $1000-$1500 I’d pick the 23. Being that it’s over a $3000 difference, the 22 makes more sense. Still a great bike and sounds like you’re getting a steal!

Picked up my 2022 GG EX 350 yesterday (woohoo). For the amount of money I saved opting for the GG over the ‘23 KTM, I was able to get all of the parts shown in the photo + graphics/seat cover that are on the way. Forks/shock are going to Factory Connection this week. At that point, I’ll be about $500 over, but the bike will be almost exactly how I want it (sans ECU).

Couldn't be happier with my cones/ohlins combo.

Edit: A Twisted tuned Vortex will be my next purchase

Here’s the (almost) final product:

I sold the unused stock wheels with the tires and sprocket to a buddy for $400, so I was able to basically hook up this ‘22 (new) GG the way I wanted it for the same price as a ‘23 KTM. The only thing missing is a Vortex. Obviously, that will be the icing on the cake, but has anyone had their stock ECU mapped by twisted? I don’t need multiple maps — I just want to prevent flame outs at low RPMs. Seems like a cost effective option.

List of changes:
Revalve/Bladder by Factory Connection
Dubya wheel set
Dunlop MX33 front/ AT81 rear
Dirt Tricks Zirconium rear sprocket
KTM map switch (GG is stuck on map 1, but the hidden map 2 significantly better)
Akrapovic slip (Keefer said to skip the header. Honestly, the stock pipes are fine on these bikes, but something in my head says the Akra/FMF feel better)
Pro Taper Husky Bars
ODI soft grips
Thrill Seekers gripper seat
Various Acerbis plastics
Polisport quick release skid plate

Twisted did the Vortex on my Husky 350 and it's awesome. I really like the "low engine breaking" map. It's a much better upgrade than a pipe or anything like that.

I don't think you can get the stock ECU remapped. Apparently there locked, although I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Bike looks rad BTW!

Congrats on the new bike! I was in the same predicament and went the GasGas route as well, 2022 Ex250f. Did you get yours from JT’s?

Thanks - congrats to you, too! Yes, bought from JT Motorsports. I like that place. This is the second bike I bought from there. They’re 3.5 hrs from my house, but their pricing is fair and there’s no BS.

Awesome I had the same experience with them. They had the best price around drove 5 hours to pick it up.

I emailed them asking about 23 remaps and this was the response.

"Nothing yet, what we had figured out with unlocking the 2020 and up ECU's doesn't work with the 2023 anymore, so as far as mapping the OEM ECU, I haven't found a solution yet. Hopefully we can figure out an alternative to map it without needed an aftermarket ECU, but I just don't have anything yet unfortunately."

What graphics are those?  Love that it kept the large letter Gas Gas logo.

I love my 22 MC350 as well.  Feel phenomenal, and getting spring conversion soon which should make it perfect.

Cross country bikes are basically the same except for the 18” wheel, oversized tank, and different valving.

So they are basically the same except where they are completely different…..got it - yea…..no😂

I was about to pull the trigger on a 23 KTM 350, but the dealer has a 22 GG 350 for about $4,000 less. I know it’s the older chassis/engine, but for that price difference, I could revalve the suspension, buy a vortex, and pick up some other aftermarket goodies like bars, wheels, and graphics. Is this a no-brainer, or is the ‘23 KTM really worth the difference?

They were done by HM Designs out of California. They are 100% custom design just based on my suggestions. Call him up and tell him what you saw and what you want and he will make it happen. Dylan is a cool dude and makes great products!

I have Cone Vales and an Ohlins shock, she rides well!

3k diff is crazy. Sucks to be a KTM dealer I guess.
The Austrian 350cc is a great engine, hope you enjoy the new bike !
