straight into tearing down the motor all the power valve parts were missing and the water pump shaft was damaged I ordered as many NOS parts as possible and sent the cylinder off for re platting along with the crank to get a new rod, bearing and balance ordered a full rebuild kit some cleaning wheels and got stuck into it

Very nice

The Flo green you want is from Tiger, the color code is 49/51340. I just had a frame done with it and it's dead on. Supposedly that's what the PC team used.

Wow that bike looked like it was ready to be trashed. you are just proving if you put enough effort into something it will turn out good.

Looking great dude, those PC/Splitfire bikes were absolute works of art.

Just curious if you don't mind me asking... I know you've been working on this over a year, is it that tough to find all the parts or more a matter of budget? I can't ride anymore but someday it would be really awesome to do a project like this for fun to replicate my 01 Supermini and display. I would be a bit worried of getting a project going and finding out down the road I can't complete it because certain parts can't be found anywhere even ebay.

Awesome man, can't wait to see more updates. Loving the purple bars too, I love that Renthal made some available again. I had a purple set of RC bend bars on my bike they looked killer.

Sanded out all the scratches and grooves from swingarm then sandblasted it now the part I’ve been putting off endless rubbing with WD40 and red scotch brite

I need to strip my swingarm and subframe on my kx250 I’m building both were painted black . I have been wondering on sandblasting or paint strippers chemicals . But after seeing your sand blasting it looks good , I was worried about pitting . Did you use 3m scotch-brite pads after and if so what colour ones did you use? I have my frame at the sand blaster powder coat shop right now waiting get it back I went with the flou green also hope looks as good as yours turned out.

Sand blasting was a must in my case cause I made a mess of it sanding/filling all the deep scratches out the sand blasting got it all to the same consistency making it easier to rub with the pads I started with green then finished with red I wanted the factory look didnt want it to end up to shiny

Did you sand blast your subframe also ?
Yes subframe sandblasted and powder coated to match frame I think in 1999 onwards the team started to run raw silver subframes

What colour did you end up choosing for your frame? Asking because I am about to powder coat mine. Any specific details would help.

I used tiger 49/51340 most powder shops in Canada have it in stock and if you research it on here that’s what people said the factory team and pc kawi used for the flo colour in late 90s early 2000s
