Good morning friends. I had a nice conversation with Tony last night, he is my friend (and a client). It's been a while since we chatted, so it was really good to catch up on a few things.

To be honest, we mostly talked business, but I now need to go back and re-read Matthes article to see what his sources are really saying. I always find it entertaining to compare the rumor mill to what is really going on with this family. Its great we have such characters in our sport, otherwise it would be about as exciting as great tennis matches.

Matthes, I am a fan of yours also, I do enjoy your Racer X articles. If you would like an update on what's going on with the Allessi Racing, you should probably just drive out to the practice track and visit with Tony. I am in no way saying what you hear on the streets has no value, but as always, there are usually more sides to the story.

Keep the good stuff flowing! Beast thread in a long long time.

Maybe he's the one that writes their Alessi newsletter...

I met Matthes once at JT$ place. He told me how to fix a leaky fork seal with contact cleaner and a bit of 35mm film. Sorry no hot broad pic to post.......

Oh...and we should also welcome Tony and Mike to Vitaldrive. At least they have the balls to sign up and post. Most don't. Whatever you think of Steve's article, it got them out of the lurking shadows.

Bauer is the founder and part-owner of WWR.

Sorry my spelling is not that great, I am a CPA, numbers are my specialty, not these word thingys.

The good news from the Alessi camp is that Mike will be at 100% before the start of SX season. They decided to go full term with the recovery this round, and he will have plenty of time to practice before season starts.

So no matter what steed he will be piloting (and he does have several bike options, apparently he has not "burned" through as many brands as Matthes indicated), he will be ready to charge full speed!

Can someone sum up? This novel is way too long for me to read. Someone tell me there is comedy in this or give up the cliff notes.

Man you would think 18 pages would be either race/culture/god related or new photos of next years bikes

Certainly.

Steve Matthes wrote a column that basically blamed Mike Alessi's dependence on his father, the man who raised and forged him into the racer he is today, for his inability to win a championship.

Some agreed and others did not. Some believe the poster with the username "AAA" is actually Tony Alessi defending himself. Some thought it was hilarious and/or titillating to continuously post pictures of some over-airbrushed skeezer with the last name Alessi.

There is definitely some comedy to be found, but where exactly is entirely dependent on your sense of humor and perspective on the issue.
"Steve Matthes wrote a column that [gave credit to] Mike Alessi's... father, the man who raised and forged him into the racer he is today, [but pointed out that he is also the cause of 800 losing all but one option for a factory ride next year]"

Great thread! Tony (whether he is AAA or not) needs to take a look at how other "prodigys" have been handled. Lots of kids grow up being groomed for whatever profession their parents decide to steer them to. Lots of money is spent, special training/schooling, etc is done....and then the kid moves on to the big time, whether it's the NFL, MLB, or pro chess tour. At this point the parents step back and enjoy the fruits of their labor while allowing the people who know how to prolong a professional career and maximize the income from it handle it from there. Tony needs to step back.

That being said, I know how I would react if anyone told me how to handle my children, and can't blame Tony for getting a little peeved about it.

BobbyM is right - there, I said it.
