Can someone put 18 pages of b.s. in a few lines?
Read the pulpmx piece.

That's the gist of the whole thread. The majority agreed and Trip/AAA disagreed, about 15 pages worth at least. Tongue

the wind was going out of the sails until Alph put this into play around page 10:

As of that moment, I became a major Alessi fan...just not the ones that ride dirt bikes...they are ok...but, she is...

88Sdad......thats just dang funny.

My reason is I that I was taught "I before E, except after C, and except for neighbor and weigh"

Note: "Their" is not mentioned. So I have been just following the rules.

Regarding if AAA is really Tony? I have had a call into him all day to see if its him. He has not texted me back yet. I will let y'all know something as soon as I hear from him.

no one is questioning his ability to ride or contend for wins outdoors. it has everything to do with him changing employers for the 4th time in 5 years and burning every bridge along the way.
Tell me how he has ridden for 4 teams in the last 5 years.

First 2 pro races he was a privateer not team Honda
first full year and second year he rode for KTM
third and fourth year he rode for Suzuki
So the next team he rides for will only be his 3rd team in 5 years.

You are an idiot. Matthes has worked in the industry longer then you have and has formed friendships with people that KNOW what the fuck is going on. You on the other hand speculate that Matthes is writting about stuff based on rumors. Did you ask the Alessi's if what Matthes said was untrue? No so shut the fuck up and stop trying to shit on Matthes for speaking his mind on a situation that everyone has wondered about for the last five years. Yes Matthes does come down hard on certain riders but he will be the first person to congratulate them when they do well. Matthes knows a hell of a lot more then you will ever know about the Alessi situation and for the fact that you want Matthes to give up his sources is just stupid. Maybe you shit on your friends when they ask you not to say anything to anyone but in a industry such as this that will get you no where. And the point comes up once again...How long has Matthes been at this? Long enough to know that he isnt writting bullshit, he writes what is known with out kicking anyone under the bus.

And really? how would everyone in the industry know about shockgate if it DIDNT happen? Explain that one...Trip
You are an idiot. Wow, great first post!!!

Matthes has worked in the industry longer then you have and has formed friendships with people that KNOW what the fuck is going on.
Does he REALLY know what's going on?? Sounds like he talked to everyone except the main players of the story. No quotes from any Alessi, or the Suzuki team manager. He made the statement that the Alessi's have burned the bridge at Honda, yet Honda gave Jeff a try out last year, hmmm?

You on the other hand speculate that Matthes is writting about stuff based on rumors.
Matthes said himself he heard rumors and whispers and decided to dig. Sounds like he dug just deep enough to get the facts he wanted to make his story good.

Did you ask the Alessi's if what Matthes said was untrue?
No, I do not personally know the Alessi's. I have met all of them a few times and I know they reconize me, but no, they don't know me by name. I would love to interview any of the Alessi's. I have been watching those two kids ride long before they went pro.

Yes Matthes does come down hard on certain riders but he will be the first person to congratulate them when they do well
He may do just that, the only two things I've ever read from him are, well this and his J-Law take.

Matthes knows a hell of a lot more then you will ever know about the Alessi situation and for the fact that you want Matthes to give up his sources is just stupid.
It's more of a question of, did the sources he talked to know he was going to write about what they said?? Eventually the people he is getting his info from, will be a part of the "opinion" piece he writes. His sources will soon run out.

No so shut the fuck up and stop trying to shit on Matthes for speaking his mind on a situation that everyone has wondered about for the last five years.
Maybe you don't understand the concept of a message board?? Is Matthes the only one to have an OPINION?? I didn't see that rule when I signed up here.

Maybe you shit on your friends when they ask you not to say anything to anyone but in a industry such as this that will get you no where
No, I don't shit on my friends or even people I barley know. DC and I had a 45 minute phone conversation one day. He said some things he has in works and I haven't even told friends about them. Not because he didn't tell me to, and really there was nothing Earth shattering, but I've remaind quiet. Matthes is a mole, he's that kid in high school who gossips about everyone, so he can fit in. There are lots of people who know things that go on behind the scenes, Matthes is the only one writing blogs about it. Perez Hilton is the same way, he has people tell him things, and then he writes about them. Both are entertaining writers, but not always 100% accurate. Matthes is the Perez Hilton of mx.

And the point comes up once again...How long has Matthes been at this? Long enough to know that he isnt writting bullshit, he writes what is known with out kicking anyone under the bus.
I don't know how long he has been at this. I guess he used to be a mechanic, for some reason that didn't work out, so he decided to write stories based on rumors and whispers.

And really? how would everyone in the industry know about shockgate if it DIDNT happen? Explain that one...Trip
I've said I don't know if 100% ture or not. I'm with Matthes on the thought where there is smoke, there is fire or at leastthe smoldering of a marshmellow. I have no clue what went on with it, or how it became so well known. I can venture a reasonable guess though. Here goes...Maybe his shock seal or a bushing was broken, he takes the shock to a place to have it re-done.(we all know pros cant work on a bike for shit) Someone at the shop tells a friend. Pretty soon the rumor becomes Mike had a shop tear apart his whole bike to see what it had in it. Just look at this board, someone says something as a rumor, by the time it makes it to the other boards it way bigger than when it was first reported.

I don't know all the facts, and your missing the whole point of the story. I just have questions about the validity of some of it. Questioning that if Tony Alessi wasn't around Mike would of been a champion by now was the main point. Mike races, and injuries are part of the gig. Mike has had two injuries the last two years that have taken him out of the running. Now if Tony had something to do with Mike crashing, I'm all ears and would love to hear how that all went down. To say Mike would be champ if Tony wasn't in his corner is laughable.

not necessarily a team, it was just that he was "supposed" to sign with team Honda.

"Mike is about to burn through his third pro team in five seasons."
Doesn't one have to actually be ON a team to burn through a team?? You never hear anyone say a pro athlete burned through 15 teams when he doesn't sign with the one team everyone thought he would. Has Michael Vick burned through 26 NFL teams already?? He could go to any team, but so far 26 or so have said they are not signing him, did he actually burn through those teams?? At the end of a career does it ever say how many teams didn't want a player/rider??

Trip, If I call you-will you like me?

All the above is not really a valid criticism if you read ANY sort of editorials in ANY newspapers. They all work exactly the way that I wrote that article. You either believe in the authors credibility or you don't. I think we know what side you fall on.

The emails and calls I've gotten from officials, industry guys, ex-riders and current riders all seem to think it was spot-on. No, I'm not going to name them, you'll have to believe me...errr...wait. I guess you won't.

The three teams I wrote about include factory Honda which was in heavy talks with Mike but the dad wanted Jeff or no deal. When Honda brought out a factory bike to Millville ahead of Mike's debut and Tony rode it up and down in the parking lot before declaring it "slow". They wanted no part of him after that.

Anyways, like Tony, you think that the riders aren't going to talk to me soon but I beg to differ. I just had three of the best riders in the world on podcasts (CR, IT and JS) and they were very accommodating to me. Even Ivan, whom I've trashed before and we discuss it on the show.

You also don't sound like you can make a very good judgment call on my writing when all you've ever read is J-Law and Alessi stories. Check out pulpmx.com and explore around a bit and get back to me.

Trip Trip Trip.

Let me get out my ol' guitar I've got a little something for you....

hmmmmmmm a 1 and a 2 and a 3, 4

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that youve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
The angry boy a bit too insane
Icing over a secret pain
You know you dont belong
Youre the first to fight
Youre way too loud
Youre the flash of light on a burial shroud
I know somethings wrong
Well everyone I know has got a reason
To say put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that youve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
Well hes on the table and hes gone to code
And I do not think anyone knows
What theyre doing here
And your friends have left you
Youve been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this
And i, I want you to know
Everyones got to face down the demons
Maybe today
You could put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that youve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
Understand
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Can you put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand

Can someone sum up? This novel is way too long for me to read. Someone tell me there is comedy in this or give up the cliff notes.

Man you would think 18 pages would be either race/culture/god related or new photos of next years bikes

Do your own homework slacker. No photos of new bikes but lots of shots of Alessi in a bikini.

You also don't sound like you can make a very good judgment call on my writing when all you've ever read is J-Law and Alessi stories. Check out pulpmx.com and explore around a bit and get back to me.
The three teams I wrote about include factory Honda which was in heavy talks with Mike but the dad wanted Jeff or no deal. Ok now, you have said that Honda was mad at you guys at Yamaha because one of your bikes broke, and didn't finish a race so Mike was able to hit the podium. That is what you said right??? Taking that and reading more into it, you know like you do, would it be fair to say that Honda maybe didn't give Mike the best bike they could of?? If they were actually mad at you guys and all, kinda makes sense they were hoping the kid would fail, maybe lower his value??

Just a question.. I've got no problems with you personally. Just like you say you don't have a personal agenda twords the riders you do stories on, I don't have one twords you. I just have doubts about the way you aquire your stories.

I will go check out your website, hell maybe I will find something in thier (mispelled on purpose) I can agree with you on. I'll let ya know, cause I know it's your dream to have me agree with you. Wink

Someting to put under your screen name Trip, instead of that Cabo bottle.

"Recognized by the Alessi's but not known by name."

And to think, you type this stuff while defending people who have no idea who the hell you are. Brilliant.

Hey maybe they do know my name, I mean when I see them I don't say their names. Wink Last year at Anaheim, Jeff made it a point to come up to me and say hi first. Mike asked how the family was doing, so who knows??

Like I said I have been watching these kids for a long time. Night races at Glen didn't get that crowded.

I have pictures that Jeff took with my camera at a REM race a few years back. While his mechanic had his bike on the line, he was snapping pics. lol
