Chad has never been a front runner in practice for many years but expect his times to improve and race times again. Old brain does not learn as fast as young brain and expect nuts aren't as big as they used to be either. Anyone expecting 40yo Chad to be a front runner in even this pack is living on emotion. Props for even being out there in a young man's game

Stick a fork in him, he was done in like 2019. 3 seconds is a big gap.
Yeah the times are a bees dick for most guys but he is a bit off the pace

Honestly pulling for Deano, haven’t seen him look this good on a bike in the last 5 years and just looks more at home and confident again. For the time he’s had on the Honda good to see him in the mix!

IMO, the bike looks like crap.
yall are wild, I love Kenny's bike, but then again I am the minority that like Barcias alpinestar Honda
I’m in the minority as well. I’m doing a 2007 CRF 250R build in the same look.

Haha for real…that thing is hideous he was wearing. One time I responded to clason about his helmet and he was all defensive. It’s like an HJC how much are they paying you to wear that POS. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Believe it or not they pay pretty well. I worked for the Rocky Mountain team when they were on Hondas and before Butler Bros took over the program. they ran oneal with HJC helmets, this was before deano made oneal cool again so it was pretty bad. They got a solid amount from those companies. And a lot of product, funny enough chiz was on the team that year lol

That looks better than the RWR bikes. It is cool to see companies like Summit get involved in moto though. Would be cool to see the new support spill over into the US MX scene.

Chad Reed’s appetite for attention and need to stay relevant is going to get his ass in trouble. He shouldn’t be out there trying to go fast. He is going to hurt himself. 5 years ago he was barely qualifying through LCQs. He’s an all time great who should be commentating not trying to go fast.

5 years ago he was still on the podium, I think you kinda messed your timeline up. Dang, he even was on the podium 3 years ago. Just let this man have his fun, why do people care so much if he lines up or not, I don't get it.

I agree, and I think people miss the point.

Chad seems to genuinely enjoy riding his bike, but more than that he still enjoys riding pro level tracks against pro level competition and getting legit gate drops.

He isn't doing it 'for attention' or to try and stay relevant, how else can he enjoy that kind of experience? If he gets the chance to to do it and travel and still make some more money, while just enjoying the buzz, he'd be crazy not to do it wouldn't he?

Updated with Saturday morning timed sessions. These times will be used for gate choice in the heat races.

Chad's got a better time today. Just about 1.5 seconds off from the top 3 times. I don't think he thought he was going to go out and win. I think its cool hes racing. I was not a fan of his earlier in his racing. When he started his own team I started to warm up to him. I'm sure he could take all his money and hide away someplace. But I'm glad he is sticking around and still doing what he must love doing , otherwise I don't think he would be doing it still. He is smart enough he's not going to be in anybodies way ,even if he was way off on speed. He may not be at the speed he had years ago, but its still cool to see him out there. And I'm sure he is much easier to approach and interact with fans now .

And I’m not trying to be a jerk either, but the man has no reason to be out there trying to go fast (I’m not even going to use the word “racing.”). Broken ribs dislocated right shoulder broken left hand? His body can’t handle what his ego is still holding onto … The dude needs to take care of himself and not try to go that fast. But ya’ll are right. It’s a free country and his choice. I’m just saying he is going to get his ass into trouble trying to do this … hoping for the best for him! 40+ year old bones don't heal as quickly.
