I recently took this beautiful picture looking west from the 8th floor of Denver Kaiser office, I don't live near hear and left driving west from 18th and Franklin street to get on interstate 25 and take a faster way home, hundreds of tents and homemade junk shelters on the sidewalks of both sides of the street for many blocks with hundreds of crazy and needy street people doing their thing the whole way to Coors field. What a drag this is a national problem that sucks

I love it here in California. yeah a lot of people suck and the price sucks, but there is still a lot of great to it.
I do however have a few-year plan of eventually moving... But I didn't leave with Joe Rogan like everyone else.

Texas is nice though.. Hot as piss sometimes but it's nice. Lots of other spots too in the U.S. Wherever I can find land and build a nice house is where I'm headed... If I can work from home and dont need to be anywhere specific, why not.

I see your hair is burning
Hills are filled with fire
If they say I never loved you
You know they are a liar
Driving down your freeways
Midnight alleys roam
Cops in cars, the topless bars
Never saw a woman so alone
So alone, so alone, so alone
Motel money murder-madness
Let's change the mood from glad to sadness

Mr. Mojo Risin.

I was born in Santa Monica. I’ve been to more big cities downtown than you could ever dream of. And not just in USA.

I just did a week long road trip through SoCal, from LA to San Diego, visiting friends and my old haunts. I left San Diego 20 years ago when I realised I was paying 55% of my income to taxes.

Last Sunday I drove from Los Feliz down Vermont Ave right through the east end of downtown LA and past the Coliseum, then got on 110 to 405 south.

California has absolutely beautiful parts.....but LA ain't one of them. Filthy, shabby, OVERCROWDED 3rd world shithole it is. Don't lie to yourself, the area around USC and the Coliseum IS a shithole .......... just because it's not as bad as Watts, and there's a "prestigious" college nearby, doesn't mean it's beautiful....or remotely safe.

I went to SX or some kind of race at the Coliseum in 1985 or 86, parked in someone's yard for cheap, no problems then. Now? I'll watch it on youtube, thanks.

Did I mention the gas station on Vermont, near the stadium, with $6.99/gal gas? I fuelled up in Yuma on the way home.....$3.99. Laughing

(It was $2.08 near my house on 20 January 2020, by the way)

Zombieland.............. stay away from the cities. ALL of them.

Fuck it maybe at each supercross race we could have a homeless race.

Each factory team has to go scout a homeless person for the race. Full factory gear and bike setup. Winner takes $10,000.

Who do I call to get this ball rolling? Grinning

Been to a lot of "big cities" around the country for work and Atlanta is hands down my least favorite. I like to pick on SoCal but man....Atlanta is just a S&%! hole.
Public service announcement for anyone ever going to ATL. Stay inside this pink circle and everything will be just fine Laughing

Which of the 2 “locals” should we listen to, the one that lives a 100 miles south of LA or the one that moved over a year ago and never actually lived there?? Just curious
Sorry slap but I lived in so cal for 44 years……worked all over la county to San Diego county for work (union construction) everyone’s standards are different. I’ve worked in Compton, east and south la,Hollywood ect. Ca could be a nice place but for my family and I we split to give my kids a better life.I wasted to much time just driving to and from work everyday. Go to the beach and it will take you 30-45 mins to find a parking spot after you sat in traffic for over an hour. Yea every city has its good and bad areas,l la seems to have more bad and good and they seem to be more near the stadiums then not. Just my experience.

Dude. He said Crackheads not Meth Addicts and such. Also I was born and raised in Los Angeles and when the crack epidemic started in black neighborhoods, it’s the black drug dealers who invented the word “Crackhead” meaning the black people who they sold it to who were addicted to the drug were called crackheads. Yes eventually other races and some white people started buying from those drug dealers and also eventually became crackheads. But you all know that term was originally given to black people who were addicted to it.

Just as how the majority of meth addicts were and are white people.

Also now there are very few crackheads left compared to all the addictions of newer drugs out there. So to say that area around the coliseum is crackheads is no longer true in relation to the new terms used for drug addicts using the new drugs in that area.

I never said he was racist for his inaccurate observation of how that area is now. He should have just used the words Drug addicts.

Yes and it makes it that much more funny that you are calling “Code Words” appropriate words.

I've lived up and down the state of California. Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, Fresno, SanFrancisco have nothing on Eureka CA. You wanna talk about a shit hole? Ever since weed was legalized the whole county of Humboldt went into a tailspin. Restaurants and shops closing down left and right, crime has increased 10 fold and they let guys out the next day. The whole economy was run off black market weed money, and now that a pound of high grade indoor is going for $800 when it used to be $3k. The growers who made the economy flourish have tighten the purse strings or flat out left town. But the rent is still ridiculously high and that's if you're lucky to find a place and the money to afford it. Only place that compares is Stockton which is a whole nother bag of worms.

Parked in an alley nearby when I attended a Metallica concert in 2003. I wasnt driving and thought it was a horrible idea. Not my car though, so fuck it.

All I remember from there is a guy dressed like a stereotypical pimp got out of a Cadillac near by. We just kept to ourselves and walked quickly to the stadium. Car was fine when we returned that night.

I have no idea what that area is like 19 years later. I'm less than an hour away, but I haven't had a reason to go back.

Edit: I will say I still love CA, for everything it offers. Affordability is obviously a huge factor for how much fun you can have here.

I parked on some dude's lawn a few blocks away for $20 and a joint. He didn't ask for the joint, but he sure did appreciate it. After the show he was sitting in his lawn chair right next to my rig high off his ass. Best $25 I ever spent on parking!
