No one wants to hear people get excited about the electric bikes that are going to kill the sport we love.
*Comes into a thread about electric bikes*

If Stark would’ve made the battery casing out of aluminum, he would have ordered two!

Boring as shit to say the least.

Without the sound of the motors and the wafting fumes of race gas, I'm out. Said it before, you might as well take up being a drone racing fan at that point.

Why because I like to ride a bike the way they're supposed to be rode? Where it actually takes skill to ride fast? Clutch, braking into turns,, throttle control?
We just gotta get with the program Brah... Wink

Start grates
Starting blocks
Holeshot devices
Traction control
No clutch and no shifting required
80 HP to clear anything with a minimum 5 foot runup.

The skill of actually riding/racing a dirt bike has slowly been being lost....now dropping off a cliff with electrics.

Pretty soon, there will be mechanical robot riders.... lol

I'm out as well. On top of the weeeeeeee, removing the clutch and shifting and not having to be in the right gear changes the sport completely.

The Stacyc has been a great learning tool for my 3 year old, but seeing Eli Tomac on one does nothing for me.

Some old dude watching Magoo ride his 2 stroke:

"Live-engine starts
Manmade tracks
Unitized transmissions with primary clutches.
Long travel suspension
Knobby tires
Fluid-dampened shock absorbers
40 HP to clear anything with a minimum 20 foot run up

Well played!

Coupla things that generation and my generation share. The roar of an ICE, the aromas....

Take that away and all you have is a bunch of glorified toasters.

Thrilling...

Im in Southern California, near all the iconic motocross tracks. Ive owned my Alta Redshift MXR for almost 4 years now. When i heard about the Stark Varg, it took me all of 3 brain cells to decide to order one. Electric dirtbikes are so rad, and the Varg seems to be an improvement over the Alta MXR in a few different categories.

Electric powerplants are amazing for motocross. Literally every single person who has ever ridden my MXR has come back with a huge smile on their face. Even the die hard 2 stroke anti-everything-else guys who take shots of premix for breakfast. Electric provides the smoothest, easiest, and safest ability to ride fast. Ill be making some content here soon explaining what i mean by all that.

Really looking forward to getting to test them out in Barcelona in just a few short months!

I'm no sadist but there's something rewarding and fun feeling about taming taming a brutally hard hitting, hard to ride and very unsafe delivery of power dirtbike ....just me but that's why I never liked 4 strokes. I love riding a mean nasty 2 stroke its a thrill I can't get from any other type of bike......thats just me and why I love riding
I've owned my fare share of 125s, 250s, 450s and multiple Altas. My Alta's are by far the most fun i have on a dirtbike on a motocross track. Fun for me is going fast around a track. On tighter tracks i'm way faster on my Altas vs 450s, and compared to the other bikes its no comparison, I'm way faster on the Alta vs any 125 or 250 i've ridden. On higher speed tracks like Cahuilla, GH, etc, my lap times are about the same between the Alta and the 450, but I can physically last longer on the Alta vs a 450 and i'm noticeably more consistent on the Alta.

Would love to have you ride my Alta some time and give me your impression. If you see me at the track, just ask!

I did one lap on an Alta and was just as fast as my 350. Hit everything, and felt instantly comfortable after 2 corners. They’re amazing bikes. Hoping this Stark thing works out.

Alright Bro! If Stark doesn’t deliver bikes to customers by the end of 2023 I‘ll send you a 100$. If they do, you’ll owe me a case of beer, let’s say 20$.
Deal?

Have you crackheads ever considered that normal dirtbikes and electric dirtbikes could coexist?
Normal ones for (pro) racing and the weekends and electric bikes for backyard tracks and noise sensitive areas.
I live in fu..king Germany. They close track after track after track because of noise.

Crackheads.... yeah: name-calling, the #1 identifier that one has lost the argument.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid. When noise is abated, they'll move on to some other reason...."endangered species", land erosion". etc etc.......

Just as has been happening for years here in California.

I ask you the same thing Magoofan: Don’t you think more options is a good thing? I want (pro) racing to stay ICE, but I want the silent option to be able to ride where I live. What’s so bad about it?

Please, answer the question. Don’t you think more options is a good thing?
Yes. But not electric. People attend the races for the atmosphere, engine sounds and obviously the racing. Not every fan is a Vitalmx member. The engine noise is a big part of it. Again can you imagine 35k people in a stadium getting pumped up and excited about silent bikes? I sure can't and will not be one of them.

I'm not scared of new. I'm afraid of how much our sport will drop off with silent bikes. It's a big part of the show which will be gone soon, with a large amount of fans. Myself included.

Yes, like I said: ICE for racing and the weekend, electric for around the house and noise sensitive areas. What’s so bad about having both?
