Loved it. As I mentioned in the thread about Pt 1, it was cool hearing about some of the deeper details about his life.

The tax he paid that one year… crazy amount in one lump sum. He got a new accountant soon after.
Love listening to DV. Honest answers, hot takes and humor. His memory for races is amazing. Also, the part about the Bridgestone tire rep was pretty funny but DV gave the guy credit for development of stuff to his liking.

The part about the Suzuki CDI was good also.

Dv is great and honest. Loved hearing about the contract stuff. Wish we heard more about that in the sport

Man was tough listening to him talk about his Dad, Every moto parent needs to listen to this. Couldn't imagine going through this with my own Dad/Son.

They didnt get into how his relationship is now with his Dad?

Yep, I remember reading about Josh Grants mom gambling away most of his moto earnings and that was really sad when Josh was talking about it, I think some of these young guys making way more money than their parents ever did and that leaves the door open for them to be taken advantage of, Josh Grants mom said she was entitled to his moneySad

DV has made mention of this before but jeebus I didn't know it was so regular or that it was generally so turbulent.

This makes him being such a great Dad and family dude even more impressive. Erica and him are split obviously but following them on social media they still carry on as a family unit and kids first etc, should be applauded, it's bloody hard leaving bad family behaviours behind and not bringing them into your own family.

Hey DV - if you read this, I’d be interested to know about your Doc. Seems a lot of French guys would travel home to see an Osteopath. What does ad osteopath do differently, why not just see a Doc in the US etc? Cheers!

People see the fancy factory bikes and parts, the money, chicks etc. Just goes to show that there's much more to it. It's not a glamorous career like everyone thinks.

Yeah I wouldn’t imagine. To spit on your kid because he’s not riding a motorcycle to your liking? He sounds like real piece of work. Do the teams ever step in, or out, when dealing with these types of parents?

I just wanted to give him a hug after listening to part 2. He was always so interactive with the fans as well. He would post on Mototalk and Motodrive all the time back when he was racing.

Fantastic interview. Amazing honesty. 2 & 3 in GP 2, 2 and 4 in AMA SX/MX and MXON win in his career is still superb even if no title like his French compatriots- what an era France produced then.

I’m not usually a big fan of his persona, but I listened to both episodes and I can’t recall any of it that wasn’t a thousand times more humble and sincere than I would have ever imagined he could be. He answered questions and spoke on topics that anyone would be excused from answering in any context.

Great interview by both DV and Ping.
