Here’s what I paid, today…
“Thanks, Joe!”

Here’s the average price of Regular Unleaded here in Gavin’s Kingdom:

For those that want to make claims about “scales of efficiency” or get all “green” and virtuous….? Here’s the kind of mileage I get in my hybrid around town…in “e” mode…which is only a few miles since it’s -not- a plug in…avg mpg is 43+ for us in this car.

I’ve got a Ford Maverick on order with the very same drivetrain and I’ll likely get around 40 mpg with it. The car that the dash picture is from is an AWD Escape Titanium that we love…especially during ski season.

To the point about “Gas getting cheaper”: We’ll, not out here! And it’s going up nationally according to reports…

$5.79 a gallon near Tacoma this morning. It was $5.05 last week. Damn near $20 jump to fill my truck.

Still $3.75 in Minneapolis. $3.18 in a nearby town that's been having a gas war for the past month.

Ours hasn't really changed a lot the past month. Quote a ways below the highs of the summer (1.58 vs 2.20+/-, per litre). I was expecting a big jump this week but it was 'only' a 4 cent increase. That California pricing is nuts.

Phoenix went from under $4 to $5 gallon in the past month.

While 2 hours north in Flagstaff, gas has not moved and is still just under $4.

If the Dems don’t lose at least the house or the senate in November…watch what happens to gas prices…they will go up!

I filled up at the same station as Team Green today.
18.17 gallons for $116.33. Like a deal, but different. They sell pizza too though so that helps

What I can’t figure out is that 2 years ago diesel was around 20 cents a gal higher than gas. Now it’s around $1.30 more. I drive a diesel pickup so am obviously affected there, but the worst part is this affects prices on everything else.

Gas has gone up around a $1.00 a gal. here in Vegas. Diesel is cheaper than gas in most stations not sure why.

I read elsewhere this morning, that a refinery in WA shut down for maintenance, and one somewhere else is down until 2023 due to a fire.

We have a Valero card threat he company; so, we get it for $6.29.

What some folks aren't gonna believe is this: THIS IS THE CHEAPER FUEL in our area! Was gonna top off my KLR at a station over by your ol' high school...$7 for 91?!?!

Ouch.

As for those that still have cheap gas like Steve out in South Carolina? NICE!

Ironic that the state just hit by a horrific hurricane still has among the cheapest gas prices.

Yet Biden will blame the hurricane for the higher gas prices all over the USA (even though they have been going up for a month, weeks before Ian was even considered a threat).

People only correlate gas prices directly to presidents when it's not their guy in office. I didn't hear near this much crying about gas prices when I was paying $4.50 a gallon under Bush Jr.

Just did a 6 state road trip.... Our vehicles all require premium fuel. Gas in CO was around $4.69ish.....I come home to San Diego and we're $6.69

****ing insane.

Food prices at restaurants in all the states we visited is unbelievable.

Supply side: It’s the sulfur content. Diesel is easier to refine, is more tolerant to sour crudes and paraffin content than gas and produces more energy per gallon, but regulations on sulfur content have limited the input oils that can be used to produce the diesel. Supply limitations naturally raise the price.

Demand side: Consumer driving slumped quite a bit over the last 2 years but commercial driving did not. Consumer vehicles are the largest users of gasoline while commercial driving is the largest source of demand for highway diesel.

The gap should close a little bit but diesel will probably stay priced above gasoline due to clean air regulations.

Cheapest gas I've ever had was $1.28 in 2014. Until this year the most expensive was $4.75ish in 2008.

Last I checked, gas at the Navy Exchange in Yokosuka was around $4.45/gal for what they claim is 89 octane. It's only slightly more expensive for me to get gas at Japanese gas stations, but the quality of the gas makes the cost difference tolerable.

And for some reason, it’s only a select few companies. I’ve noticed the 7/11’s that have gas where I am at have not jumped too much, but the Chevrons are over a dollar more than they were. Ridiculous. I’m so tired of this country’s working class getting fucked routinely.
