Here's the scoop from the team. No broken bones is good news, as is no surgery.
Josh Grant Update
Rookie was Injured at X Games 15
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (August 7, 2009) – The ankle injuries sustained by JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha’s Josh Grant during the first Super X qualifier at X Games 15 are not as severe as initially thought. Grant flew back from Los Angeles to North Carolina Monday night and visited with an orthopedic surgeon known to NFL Hall of Fame football coach Joe Gibbs as an outstanding ankle specialist amongst NFL teams. Accompanied by his mother, Joe and Coy Gibbs, and his tuner, Alex Ewing, Grant spent several hours with the doctor Tuesday and was told the better than expected news. Further tests were performed Wednesday and again today to be certain that every consideration was included. The prognosis is that Grant requires no surgery, will be riding in approximately six-to-eight weeks, and will be thoroughly prepared for the 2010 AMA Supercross Series opener on January 9 in Anaheim, Calif.
“We are encouraged by the diagnosis,” said team owner Coy Gibbs. “The preliminary information we received in Los Angeles had us feeling that Josh’s injuries were more severe and while it may not seem like it, a six-to-eight week recovery is actually good news since Josh will be 100% for Anaheim. Josh is a tough competitor and he was having a great rookie season, we are proud of what he has accomplished this year and are looking forward to 2010.”
Grant, a rookie in the premier division who is currently second in series points will most likely miss the last four races of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. The JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha team will seek to field a replacement rider for those events. “We are evaluating substitute riders to join Cody Cooper on our team for the remaining races,” said JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha team manager Jeremy Albrecht. “We are a sponsor driven team so we always try to have two entries in every event to represent our partners. Whenever possible, we like to give a young prospect a chance to provide some exposure and establish if there might be a fit into our program at some point.”

That's great news, and is coming from a pretty good source. So much for the industry hacks around here..
Josh's mom posted on here and she didn't mention exactly what was wrong, but someone one goof ball says he knows something and everyone runs with it. Speculation is over rated.
Also it is good to see Coach Gibbs hooking the kid up with the best there is in the ankle biz.
I'm guessing its going to be:
Dungey
Short
Tedesco
Who else could it really be now? Stewart has pretty much ruled himself out hasn't he?
Call me crazy,call me insane!
But the ideal USA team is....
JLAW - MX1 (He could get the job done & is allowed to throw 1 finish away.)
Barcia- MX2 (Young hungry & fast and could put in 2 solid motos.)
Dungey-MX3 (450 or maybe even ride a 250F if that is allowed-he is good for 2 motos.)
And I bet the fans all over the world would love to see it!
And if we won, people would talk about it for years.
And if we lost...we could just blame JLAW.
The AMA needs to look at the big picture and definitely look at what would give their organization the most exposure, win or lose. This team would do it.
With our ATeam pretty much out, it would also bring some spark back into the event
and more people would tune in (which would be good for the sponsors, like Red Bull ect.).

Glad to hear Coy say that a goal of thier is to always have 2 entries, which means thier whole team is out there! How many other teams can say that they have that mind set? Im not trying to start anything, just saying I love hearing some honesty.
Get well soon!
2nd, don't throw stones if you don't know!
In other words, many are throwing comments
negative as they are about the JGR motors.
Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Let Jlaw, Barcia and Dungey ride the MXON ....what do we have to lose?
