Where do you come up with this ???? "Most people" Cars are for the most part not an investment unless you collect rare and or collectible cars. You seem to be really good at telling everybody else what is or isn't good for them. How about you worry about yourself and quit worrying about "most people" because you dont know

How the hell did this thread go so sideways?

Anyway, yes, I have noticed prices cooling quite a bit in my area. Keep in mind, though, I am not shopping for new bikes but always on the lookout for a good project bike.

I apologize because I derailed it a bit too when I got set off by someone who thinks they know what everyone else's financial situations are and thinks that people who have nice stuff are drowning in debt and assorted BS. I need to understand that the people who think they can speak for most of American's when they are really talking about their own situation. I need to calm the F down when I read their BS and go about my business. Blush

But the good part is used bikes are coming down and I buy a lot of cool project bikes so maybe their will be some diamond's in the rough showing up for sale.

I tried to copy the link but couldn’t find a share icon on Facebook Houston Market place.. 2020 KX450 for $5400 if I recall. Seems like it had 89 hrs with zero hrs on new top end or something like that.. It looked better than new. If I was younger and a Kawasaki guy I’d jump on it but I’m old and a Yamaha guy.

Dang if there’s not some deals on green bikes compared to a while back. I bet rock bottom ain’t even close.

There you go talking about "most Americans" when you don't have a clue. Just because YOU maybe in dire straights has nothing to do with the real world. Grow up, move out of your parents basement and earn the nicer things in life and quit whining about things you know nothing about. Those statistics are made up by the others just like you that want to believe "most Americans" are struggling, misery loves company. Who are you going to blame when us Boomers die off, then I am sure it will be Gen Xs fault right.

Well, with spelling, punctuation, and composition skill like these, I'll assume you work in a low income field. No wonder you don't have significant disposable income. Probably buy your groceries on a credit card and pay 18% APR to boot. And before you go off on me as a college-educated Liberal who knows what's best for you, all I have is a HS education and some trade schooling, but I can communicate and got lucky to land in an in-demand industry.

When this boomer dies off he's gonna leave a little $$$ to his heirs, and a very nice, small collection of very cool bikes to his favorite son. Who will know how to ride and maintain them after I am dead.

Shut up boomer. We’re all waiting and saving for the next 15 years so we can buy some decent real estate when you croak. You will not be missed sir, you have given away this country to violent leftist ideologues. You boomers should be ashamed that you let this once decent country get destroyed while you stood by and sipped your apple juice. You are half the man your father was

Ah so it's game on, eh punk? You feel lucky? My old man was a coal miner who went to WW2, lived, got an education, and pulled himself out of poverty. He gave me a good start on life. I never wanted for anything. I went in the military at 17, and spent 20 years Air Force and Embassy duty. I've been working since I was 15, so 45 years now, never unemployed, never on the dole. I earned every fucking thing I have. I didn't get shit from the government with all their COVID relief, and trust me, I paid my share of taxes the entire time.

I have 5 kids, 4 left, none came back. All 4 gone are employed, some married, all in solid careers as fire fighters and nurses. The last one will do the same because he is smart, knows life is just a series of decisions and you better make good choices or suffer the consequences. I haven't fucked this country up. I've contributed to our success. What have you done?

Boomers are literally the ones who stood by and stood down and allowed feminism, radical government over reach, leftism, and blatant communism to flourish in America. Boomers are responsible for handing this country over to communists with a cute little bow tied on top of the basket. Their fathers would have died before they saw that happen - those were real men. Yes, you boomers will die in a few years but we will not stop talking about the embarrassment that was your existence. Yes you are your friends are responsible for the downfall of the USA. And yes we will continue to hold you responsible and point the finger at you to our kids and grandkids

Your generation is directly responsible for permitting the political and social devolution of the last 40 years. You know damn well your fathers generation would never have tolerated any of this crap, so don’t get smart with me zippy.

There is some validity to that point. I would argue that my father lived in a different era where communication was much, much slower, and the scourge of social media didn't yet exist. Would they have not tolerated it? They weren't equipped to even imagine it. I don't recall ever once having a discussion about politics with my old man.

Regardless, I am a contributor to the success of this democracy, as flawed as it is. What have YOU done?

What have I done? I begrudgingly pay my tax. But as a guy in his mid 20’s, the country I live in was already surrendered by the men before me - the boomers. So I get to sit around and work my job and pay into the welfare state, watch my friends die thanks to the Boomers open borders and watch women get drunk and tease men thanks to the feminism that your generation permitted. Where is my wife? Where is my affordable real estate? I have basically nothing to live for, and that’s because you and your friends gave everything Away to the enemy for nothing in return.

Oh boy, this thing going south fast. I would argue that the boomers where better than my generation (gen x'er). At least i know my dad is a better man than me and i think i do my part.
I rather keep talking about dirt bikes getting cheaper though. Im in the market and can luckily afford to pay cash!! Where is me a good priced used 350 at? I'm also looking for a decent adventure bike. Im leaning towards an 890 but thinking a 690 might work best for me back east.

Did any of you guys see all those adventure bikes that guys rode in on at the mxdn. They all parked over by the entrance close to the pits!!

I have the kind of savings to pick up a used Super Tenere. They have some with 8-10k miles for about $7-8k. Heard some bad things about the model but much more affordable than bmw or triumph

the corporate boomers and union boomers are exactly what you describe.

they were handed the greatest economy in the history of the world and left nothing for their kids.

its sad that when i talk to these asshats, that most of them cant see that the cost of living has tripled since 1990 and wages are flat. the typical response is "oh work harder" or "start a business, stop complaining bla bla"

alot of them are going to be learning swahili since they will need to communicate with the invaders that work at those nursing homes they'll be living in.

If you think the 80's were a piece of cake....you missed out on the dream where interest was 18 to 22 percent for years and LOTS of people lost everything.....Ask me how i know this.....

I do agree with Pro Lapse on the fact that men are getting soft and are letting weak humans dictate terms to em......where are all the ass kickers that used to be around every corner?????

I'm not a boomer.....but getting softer than I am comfortable with......
