This shouldn't be a big deal, but unfortunately it is due to the fact riders racing in the US are racing 30 weekends a year, no wonder they are retiring early. In my opinion it's way too much. Their window of opportunity to make money is so small. There's plenty of contact sports where athletes are in their prime in their 30s. This should be seen as a good thing. Hopefully this series helps with the burn-out of riders we see all the time.
In what contact sports are athletes in their primes in their 30's?

Troll as usual? Sorry bud not a troll I’ve just been critical of their decision making…you can call it what you want but the reality is that they have done nothing but misstep every chance they get….6…4…2 ….This could have been a great fall off season series, and they would have been very successful with that and gotten more top rider and team involvement…but they made the mistake that the FIM actually meant something, that they could convince US riders and teams to race their series…now they have a series that they are having issues finding venues, top tier riders and respectable teams…they are now down to a two race “pilot” series and no streaming service or broadcast at this time with 3 weeks to go before the first race…They are failing and more than half the riders that are on teams for these two races won’t be racing the series next summer because they will be racing in the US

Tomac ain’t doing the whole series, just one round let’s not act like he’s making a run at WSX.

Starling and Moranz on a team together, that would be great since I already
own all their T-shirts.

I don't follow boxing very closely.

I know sometimes there are champion boxers in their 30's, but I don't think they are in their primes in their 30's. I would be surprised if it is typical for boxers to be at their best in their 30's. Quick reflexes are important, and they start slipping away in your 30's.

UFC is a pretty physically demanding sport, currently 6 of their champions are 34, one is 36, two are 33, one is 31, and they have one that is 29. They also have one vacant belt but the two guys about to fight for that belt are 32 and 31.

For all the UK bros...why would they go to Cardiff? It's not the last place in UK I would put a race but it doesnt seem like the 1st. Is there a hardcore moto culture there or some badass stadium?

I think it comes down to stadium availability as premier league season has just started so most the football stadiums will be in use. I believe principality is mainly rugby. Also is a pretty cool stadium looking at it.
I can’t wait, my first supercross experience and I’m taking a non-moto guy with me to see if I can get him hooked!

I know even less about UFC than I do about boxing.

But don't a lot of UFC fighters come from other sports first? Just at a glance I see that Adesanya (kickboxing) and Volkanovski (rugby) competed in other sports before UFC. I don't know if that is typical. I also don't know much about the business side of things as to how UFC finds its fighters. Do they generally have a lot of 23-year-olds competing? It looks like UFC fighters generally start in other organizations before going to UFC.

stylebender does come from kickboxing.. which is truly a gnarly full contact sport... he f'd up a ton of guys in kickboxing before f'em up even more in MMA...

and yes.. alexander the great did rugby, also a full contact sport...

as far as youth in the UFC specifically.. they just got a special allowance for a 17 year old to fight for them... which is truly a shame, as MMA fighting just ruins your body head to toe.... and they are now allowing human dog fighting to occur with minors... Bo Nickal is a big name wrestler just now getting into the UFC and I think he is 26 ... Kumshot is a "young" hot fighter, but he is 28...however.. Jon Jones, often considered the GOAT in the UFC (if you don't care about dirty drug tests), won his first title at 23, but the UFC is a lot different today, than then...

IMO... still not quite as sick as MX... where they have no issue feeding 13 yr olds to full SX tracks... i've personally seen dozens of MX kids busted completely up by the age of 14.... kids that won't ever know what it feels like to walk without pain for the rest of their lives... all 'cause dad told'em to "just go faster" to get on a good team....

good times! LOL

So you’re more supportive of WSX just canning the whole idea and US only run a SX series yeh? the world SX/mx community is way better off without more racing; new sponsorship money and allowing everyone to experience the sport????

The difference with martial arts is the skills and knowledge keep growing beyond any other sport.

You can be old and still have solid striking and grappling even if you’re a bit slower. You can continue to improve your base skills infinitely. But at some point you do run into a wall versus atheleticism

That doesn’t work in MX as well, although we have seen a very sharp tick in how late elite riders are staying in the Moto game as well.

FIM have published the WSX racing rules on track cutting etc which at least are pre-determined & clear and not left up to interpretation by some official at the time.

Those are the same rules that are in the Supercross...
