I am the mental midget.
This whole story is walking in circles.
Why? Because Star clearly showed up to a knife fight with an assault rifle, and that is against the spirit of trying to have a semi-level playing field to show the better rider. I could care less about the kid's motive or those that sided with him. The rule is there as a means to keep it close just like production based in pro AMA.
Pit Row
Peace.
There are very few people making this industry go that don't wear multiple hats, often at the same time. God, most people do this because they love it and don't want it to die. It's not enough by itself to impugn anybody, which is why I keep pressing for facts about actual intent by MXSports to produce this kid not getting the bike.
It absolutely could and should have been handled better, and although I have not spoken to Davey for several years I can't imagine that he isn't as upset as anyone.
Take care brother, I am going to try and force myself to drop this.
You touched on the offer/bribe itself,
In this particular case, I think of Brennan as the person that 'secured a right', but it is actually Donny/Yamaha that secured the two motors to use as leverage to offer Brennan so he would drop the claim. I think that's what you are saying here, that there is nothing 'wrong' about it, but right and wrong don't necessarily correlate to honest or dishonest.
Do you believe it is an honest way to go about getting the claim dropped? To offer 2 motors after you were certain that Brennan and his crew weren't going to change their mind.
I do apologize to caviar&cigarettes338
At the end of the day the legitimacy lies in what is offered. To me, anyway, but I and anyone other than pops doesn't get to judge that. I hope pop maxed them out, and goes after anyone who renegs.
One thing we all have to understand this is causing change and change for the good. It's unprecedented that something that happened less that two weeks ago has already caused change for the better. You have THE AMA official on here telling you about those changes and asking your opinion! What??? the same guy that many on here went after with a pitchfork...That's never happened before...every AMA official/referee that will be in the position to handle a claim will know exactly what to do and how to handle it in the future...the factories are not going to show up again with a bike that the average Joe can't purchase and build themselves...
