I just listened to the Brennan's interview on my lunch break.

1st off , I could stop shaking my head , but it also left me a little infuriated! I felt like that kid got bullied / shoved around and followed the rules , and the people with all the money shoved him into a corner. He even mentioned that all he really wanted to do is just ride a factory bike , and was even willing to sell them the bike back for exactly what he paid for it for. The engine builder " Derek " even said he wouldn't even open up the engine , and that's what they were worried about.

Through this whole ordeal , it sounds like it could of all been prevented in the end , if Haiden or Brian just said " Hey kiddo , why don't you come by our place and spin a few laps on the bike? "

I can't help but see all the wrong in the way this was all handled. And as far as Derek Harris goes.....I know some on here don't care for the dude , but I honestly dig the hell out of the guy. I've dealt with him a few times and he went out of his way to write some long emails and answered all my questions. Stand up dude in my eyes.

That would be circumventing the claim and Haiden would be banned from AMA competition for a year.
Please explain how letting someone else ride your bike......gets the person who owns the bike , suspended for a year from competition.

You completely lost me here.

Since Carrie Coombs the lawyer was present when Brennan dropped the claim, is there recorded evidence? Brennan says he said "if it was my choice, I wouldn't drop the claim" when he was asked about if he was pressured to drop the claim.

If an attorney was present and there wasn't a recording, couldn't the attorney say whatever they want to make the company they represent look well? Seems VERY shady to me that they are hiding behind the attorney being present and that Brennan simply rescinded the claim.

If Brennan said "if it were up to me, I wouldn't be dropping it", couldn't that be used in a court of law to prove there was pressure? Without a recording of that conversation, we don't know who is lying. Somebody is lying.

Claiming rules in the AMA Rulebook.

5. If a rider whose motorcycle is claimed refuses to comply, they must forfeit the trophy, is disqualified from the meet and will be suspended for one year.

7. Any rider deemed by the AMA to be complicit in circumventing the claiming rule (i.e. placing a claim with the intent of returning the motorcycle to the original owner), will be subject to a 1-year suspension of competition privileges.

If it was offered to circumvent the claim, then it breaks the rules.
Every single thing the Deegans did, Star racing did, and Yamaha did, would be circumventing the claim. Their ONLY choice was to let the bike go no questions asked.

I would assume there's something maybe in here (300 plus page rule book) with it being an AMA event.
I've honestly never read it.
Just the LL supplement rules.
If any of you guys have a shitload of free time to read it - let us know what you find. Smile

Many many people should be suspended for a year over this, it really is unprecedented.

If the dealer had a part in stopping the claim, his son should be banned.
If the trainer had any part in stopping the claim, everyone who he works with should be banned.

I'm not saying I agree with all of this, but it is the rules.

Anyone not racing, is the responsibility of whoever they are there for.

The reality is, this an even bigger issue than people are making it out to be.

Since they didn’t know about the claiming rule, It’s safe to assume they didn’t know about No.7 either.

Is AMA / MXSports going to have the balls to honour the rule book.

Yamaha representative, Deegans and Matt walker have written there own sentence and because of there YouTube status and how this Is blown up AMA and MXSports have no choice.

Cracks me up that Cotter is present, Carrie is acting as a lawyer…. And The President of MX Sports, the person who has been the face of MX Sports for two decades, DC, is basically nowhere to be found in what’s the most contested decision at the ranch in a decade.

His answers are always interesting. Sort of an “aww shucks I dunno what’s going on” attitude half the time.

There’s a reason it was Carrie and not DC doing the press conference with Prater about “SupErMoTOcROSs”….

If I did, this wouldn’t have happened. Rules are in black and white, if there is no claim, there is no penalty for not giving up the bike.

A lawyer for MX Sports, whom happens to be in the Coombs family, was brought in when the claim was dropped?

I seem to have missed this in all the interviews. I also missed where Star agreed to give the kid engines and whatnot.

Just when I was starting to think this was losing steam, another twist it takes.

rough year for ol' DC. The strategy this year for him has been to hide in his RV and avoid really responding to anything. Hate it for the guy cause year over year he's always been pretty active on this board...but damn...it's been one thing after another for his organization and he's a ghost.

And he’s a minor. A bunch of adults working together to isolate, corner, and intimidate a minor reads poorly in court. He doesn’t seem like the type but I hope he buries everyone involved in this situation. If DC’s sister is actually a lawyer then everyone should be aware of how absolutely fucked they are if real lawyers get involved.

This part of adults taking a minor behind closed doors to intimidate him is the part that makes my blood boil. I would be super surprised if an attorney isn’t contemplating taking this case pro bono or partial contingency

Curious, is anything a 17 year old signs legit?
And carrie combs was the lawyer? Wtf? Is that not a conflict of interest? Especially after tim cotter got involved. I see all these interviews but where is the interview with DC?
I love the series and always respected them as i know their job is hard but jesus christ they got some explaining to do. At least in my eyes, cotter needs to go at the very least.
