No clue how outdoors operate as far as parking, or spectating go. Do I need to buy online to ensure the ticket or is buying at the gates an option? Do I need to bring food/water? Can I even?

I can only assume seeing Eli power wheelie up that hill is gonna give me chills.
I am a Washougal newbie and will be going for my first time this year! Not really knowing what to expect but coming in Friday and camping onsite. Anything you guys learned on your first trip would be awesome to hear and make this trip, even more, Epic than it already will be just seeing the action live!
Great info. Is the VIP ticket section worth it? Or just general admission and walk around the whole place. Coming in Thursday so I think we’ll watch PIR, do whatever on Friday and the national saturday
General and walk around. There are WAY too many places that you can't see from the VIP section. Stout shoes recommended - there's a few steep and rocky sections and every year I see someone in flipflops eat it.
Traffic inbound last year was the worst ever. Very long backups on the only route in on Saturday morning. I hope they do a better job managing that this time around. 2-3 hours on river road for some people.
Stay out of downtown Portland especially at night. Ever since they legalized all drugs it's a real problem. And if you do have to take an Uber and go to your destination right away and leave right away.
Washougal is awesome!!! Just being there is an amazing experience, then add all the national fun on top of the natural beauty plus the friendly NW peeps and you'll have a great time. If you bring your dogs, they require you to tie them up at your pit and no walking them into the infield at all. But plenty of room in the back fields to walk them away from the track. They have some early early camping pass for like $200 that gets you in Monday. We've never done that and I doubt you'd get trackside anyway without some kind of inside connection. I wouldn't stress about getting trackside, the grounds are amazing! It's 600+ acres of prime Pacific Northwest forest and meadows. The giant fir trees are epic to camp under. The county requires them to have booze confiscating Nazi's at the gates so if you plan on smuggling booze in hide it really really good! FYI, we get booze in every year. Just be creative and sneaky
It's not cheap so be prepared for the cash vacuum but you're still gonna have fun and it's worth it in my opinion. If you can, head down to PIR Thursday night for the evening for the pro challenge, it's one of the biggest moto parties you'll experience with racing that is off the charts!!! Traveling privateers go and race hard for a chance at the large purse. The gates stay open all night back up at Washougal so you can get home late without fear of being locked out. The year before last I rolled in from PIR in my motorhome at 2:30am with 3 cases of beer hidden and cruised right on through.. My advice, Go! You won't regret it.
If we get a hotel Friday night and head to washougal Saturday morning, how early should we leave to avoid the ungodly traffic I keep reading about…
or would it be a lot easier to tent camp at wash Shugal that night?
I would guess 6-6:30 am. Were you able to get a hotel in Washougal? There may not be any available. You might have to go to PDX airport or Vancouver/Camas? We always stay at the track then sleep in and avoid all that nonsense. Same with leaving, we just hang out into the evening or just stay until Sunday morning.
Pit Row
You can really close to the track at Washougal, almost feels too close at times, it’s awesome! You’ll love it.
With that description, I’m debating on taking a road trip from the Midwest to check it out! Great little story
